A woman took in a 14 year old girl after promising to raise her like her own.
When the girl got her first period, she was told to fold tissue and manage because sanitary pads were too expensive.
A few months later, the woman’s own daughter started menstruating.
She came home with a full pack of sanitary pads.
The other girl came to me crying. She kept asking what she had done wrong and why she wasn’t worth the same care.
I encouraged her, bought her a pack of sanitary pad and thought that was the end of it.
Somehow, the woman found out.
She’s been telling me to mind my business.
I just couldn’t watch a little girl go through that.
My last relationship was probably the happiest relationship I’ve ever been in, but it was also the relationship where I cried the most and constantly felt emotionally unsafe. How do I explain that.
Someone said: You really can’t scare off a guy who’s genuinely into you, you could literally throw a rock at him and he’d still be like, “damn, she must’ve had a rough day."
It is unfair the woman is the one being dragged when the man is the one that messed up. We need to encourage family values and bring back healthy faithful relationship. The behaviour we are encouraging is damaging us and that is why we have many people living with trauma. You might think it is just sex, but what about how it affects your partner and the other women whom you led to believe they are in a relationship with you.
Please don't lead people on by denying your relationship, just because of sex. You are playing with their hearts.
Pain has a face. The people you are hurting are not statistics or numbers. They are individuals with hearts who also have their own expectations from relationship. Interestingly, the consequences are not the same for men and women. Please protect your partner by doing right by them. If you have erred in the past, you can choose to do better going forward.
Don’t be so understanding toward us as men. Do not be so forgiving toward us. Do not be so patient with us. Do not be so gracious with us, and do not be so empathetic with us. Because 9 out of 10 times, maybe even 10 out of 10 times in some cases, a man is always going to put himself first. He’s looking out for his own self:
I need ₦2 million to rent an apartment 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’m tired of living in my parents’ house at 30, and I really want to experience what it feels like to have my own space and live independently.
The amount of “see finish” from cousins, neighbours and ara adugbo is becoming too much 🥲🥲
I also plan to use part of the space for my fashion house, so it will serve as both my home and a place to grow my business.
Please, if you can support me financially or help me reach someone who can, I’ll be extremely grateful. 🙏🏽❤️
I have this saved and currently saving more 🥹
My heart goes out to everyone who has lost someone dear, recently.
The grief is tough. Maybe tougher on realising how quickly the world moves on.
That's why I'm sharing this piece with you. My heart goes out to you. 🫶
Your loved one is at rest. 🕊
