Strengthening Public Health Evidence in West Africa ๐๐
The Regional Scientific Manuscript Writing Workshop has officially commenced in Accra, Ghana, bringing together 22 FETP residents, graduates, and mentors from Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.
Organized by AFENET in partnership with the ECOWAS Regional Centre for Surveillance and Disease Control (RCSDC) and the US CDC, the five-day workshop is equipping field epidemiologists with the skills to transform field data into publishable evidence that informs policy and strengthens public health action.
Participants will refine manuscripts for publication in the Journal of Interventional Epidemiology and Public Health (JIEPH), contributing valuable African-led evidence to regional and global health security efforts.

Protecting our communities from hospital-acquired infections starts with strong Infection Prevention and Control #IPC programs in our health facilities.
We must invest more in these initiatives to safeguard public health and prevent the next epidemic.

The ERPHC team met with the leadership of the @NCDCgov, led by the Director General, Dr Jide Idris on the 4th of May to brief him on the progress of the project and equally thank NCDC for collaborating and supporting the project from inception.
The project strengthens Health Care Worker and patient safety through multi-level Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) interventions and mitigates the impact of health threats through optimizing early detection and response at the PHC level, a core mandate of the NCDC.
This week, our nonprofit @appliedepi trained field epidemiologists from 15 countries in R:
"This course addressed my day-to-day challenges... and in 1 hour, we resolved R problems I've had for 1 year!"

Use of gloves shouldn't be made mandatory when accessing the bank or ATM, rather regular hand washing and use of sanitizers. Hopefully this will be taken out from you messages and mail.
