@Nintendeal 4x in less than a year is INSANE 😭 AI ate all the storage chips and gaming is just collateral damage. ppl abt to pay $800 for a console that genuinely costs them that much to make now
@martinvars the 'never seen a component price increase this bad' from apple is sending me 😭 bro you design your own chips and still managed to blame micron. MacBook Air at $1299 is just normal now apparently
@mrpyo1 $59/mo cloud sub on top of $80 games is INSANE dude 😭 AI wanted the hardware, gamers got the bill. the math on gaming just doesn't work anymore
@CultureCrave "conduct that makes no economic sense absent collusion" is corporate for "yeah they were absolutely doing this" 😭 all three of the biggest RAM makers at once. ppl wondering why their PC build costs double and this is literally why
@alphafox valve basically built a gaming console and said 'trust us it's still a PC' 😭 LTT doing a side by side was inevitable. same price, double the performance on the custom build... the steam machine being the future aged so badly
@GamesRadar Steam Machine $1000+, PS5 hiking, Switch 2 hiking, Xbox $800... all in the same year 😭 this isn't a coincidence, it's js the whole industry deciding affordability is smth you deal with, not them
@anishmoonka same box since 2020 and it costs $300 more 😭 no new chip, no new features, they just waited for ppl to accept it as normal. the 'console gets cheaper over time' thing is just gone forever at this point
@WinC_Gaming marketing a game by clarifying you have to pay for it is a new one 😭 xbox trained ppl so hard that opting out of game pass is now the pitch dude
🚨 THE MEMORY CHIP SHORTAGE WAS MANUFACTURED
Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are being sued for allegedly engineering the DRAM shortage.
The lawsuit claims they used the "AI Boom" as cover to cut the regular memory supply.
DRAM prices are already up 500-700%.
Now the damage is showing up in iPhone and Mac prices.
This is why demand for AI is rising so fast.
This looks like total supply control.
@PolymarketMoney "biggest price jump he's ever seen" and AI is the one creating the demand that caused it 😭 at least someone's finally saying it out loud tho
@TheRooster "did EA acquire Rockstar" is sending me 😭 locking shops is so unhinged dude. you paid $80 and you can't enter a building. the game is literally gating itself
@TheAhmadOsman 'capacity x bandwidth' sounds clean but the real bottleneck is smth simpler - who can afford the hardware to run any of this locally 😭 local AI is abt to be a $3k+ buy-in and ppl wonder why everyone's still on the cloud
