I don’t know what is more concerning. That the regulator tweeted about a shutdown not sanctioned by them? That the tweet came at 5:00 PM over an incident that happened at 1:00 AM? That the Military Chief declared only he could sanction reopening the media houses? That a public order to arrest media lead @SueNsibirwa came via X? That the CDF actually believes the press should be 'guided by cadres of the revolution,' or that the Head of State (the last known one, at least) allows all this to happen in silence?
How will this be recorded in the history our children’s children read? 🤔 or maybe the ‘writers of history’ will pretend none of it happened!
Have you been told to pay more than 600k for a driving licence before? 😱😳
Well, that’s just bad!
Our official driving licensing rates are as follows 👇🏾!

We’ll not reshare the torture images of @EriasLukwago, as to do so would be to further the interest of the folks carrying out the unlawful actions and to perpetuate his undignified and humiliating treatment.
We’ll say, though, that such actions are a daylight manifestation of the state of our country, captive to the shallow interest of a small clique to whom the law is a suggestion, rather than a command.
You humiliate the man, torture him, but you’ll never match the power of his ideas; the high moral grounds on which he stands will be a summit you will only glance from afar.
We’d demand that he be set free or taken to court through a lawful process if he has committed any crime, but i doubt you’ll heed to such calls. It is out of your grapes. So we will only ask that when you have satisfied your cheap desires, leave him alive to return to his family, cause, and country. He’ll meet and vanquish you in the arena of ideas, law, and morality.
A country where an innocent sickly prominent lawyer is kidnapped, and someone tweets that he is torturing him, and the tweet is liked by thousands of cheering people!
RATIONALISATION OF GOV'T EXPENDITURE:
The PSST Dr @rggoobi has said that effective next FY 2026/27, @GovUganda will not spend money on organising public functions (public holidays) including: Women's day,Labour day,Independence day etc). He says money will only be spent on the few religious functions.
According to Dr.Ggoobi,H.E the President @KagutaMuseveni will address Ugandans on Radio and Television from State House, adding that the money saved will be used to finance the priorities of Gov't (ATMS & Enablers).
This is a legitimate concern, especially because it involves tax payers' money.
Firstly, the LOP's budget caters to opposition MPs and staff, unlike the Speaker and Deputy Speaker who don't have MPs under them.
So contrary to what some believe, the budget for the office of LOP is not money that goes to the pocket of the office bearer. If anything, I don't even have control over that budget, the Speaker has to always clear any activities that we propose to do as the Opposition, and sometimes she doesn't give clearance even if it's budgeted for.
The Speaker controls the budgets of all departments and committees of Parliament. Even when committees have money budgeted for them, many times the money is used elsewhere by the institution and therefore not availed to the particular committee. Likewise, the LOP's budget is not under the LOP's control.
Some time recently as the Opposition we planned to execute some activities which were budgeted for, but the Finance department told us the money was not available, eventhough on paper(budget) it was. I wrote to the Clerk to Parliament as the Accounting Officer, asking him what happened to the resources since we had not utilized them. He wrote back to me explaining that the Speaker had directed for the usage of that money for different Parliament activities which I didn't even know about, and this is a concern I have raised severally regarding the operations at Parliament.
So that 4.2bn budget is in the real sense not under my control.
