Today, we proudly inaugurate the new terminal at the Bahir Dar Dejazmach Belay Zeleke International Airport Terminal—a significant milestone for one of Ethiopia’s most important gateways. This project represents more than a modern terminal. Following the challenges Bahir Dar has experienced in the very recent past, it is a testament to resilience, recovery, and continued investment in the future.

The new terminal significantly enhances the airport’s capacity and passenger experience, supported by expanded aircraft facilities, upgraded infrastructure, improved access roads, and modern amenities designed to serve the region’s growing needs. Together with the urban transformation shaping the city, the new terminal positions Bahir Dar as another key hub for both international and domestic flights. It is my hope that the local community continues to safeguard its peace to reap the economic rewards of what a vibrant city like Bahir Dar offers.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, today participated in the 1354th Ministerial Meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) on Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism in Africa.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hadera underscored the growing threat posed by global terrorist groups to peace and security across the continent. He noted the ability of terrorist groups to exploit emerging technologies, including digital platforms and social media, to recruit members, disseminate propaganda, and spread extremism.

Given the global shifts, he stressed the importance of operationalizing the Africa Standby Force and strengthening the implementation of continental normative frameworks to enhance intra-African cooperation on security and governance.

Ambassador Hadera also highlighted Ethiopia's efforts to combat domestic terrorism and its unparalleled contribution to addressing the scourge of terrorism in the region.

I am pleased to see the steady progress of the Chano–Chencha Road Project. The 29-kilometer project, comprising the 22-kilometer Chano–Chencha road and the 7-kilometer Ezo–Gircha branch road, is advancing well, with 13.3 kilometers already completed. Once finished, it will improve connectivity, make travel easier, and support local economic development. I look forward to its successful completion.

During the visit, we also reviewed the renovated Dorze Lodge, a community-led tourism destination that has been thriving since 2005. Perched on a cool, mountainous ridge spanning 40,000 square meters, this remarkable site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lakes Abaya and Chamo, together with the natural wonder known as God’s Bridge.

The continued development of road infrastructure alongside tourism sites like Dorze Lodge will help unlock the region’s immense economic and cultural potential. I invite our citizens, Ethiopians in the diaspora, and travelers from around the world to visit and experience this extraordinary natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

የቻኖ-ጨንጫ መንገድ ፕሮጀክት የደረሰበትን ፈጣን የግንባታ ሂደት ዛሬ ተመልክተናል። የ22 ኪሎ ሜትር የቻኖ-ጨንጫ መንገድ እና የ7 ኪሎ ሜትር የኤዞ-ጊርጫ ቅርንጫፍ መንገድን የያዘው የ29 ኪሎ ሜትር ፕሮጀክት በጥሩ አፈጻጸም ላይ ሲሆን፣ 13.3 ኪሎ ሜትር ስራው ተጠናቋል። የመንገዱ ስራ ሙሉ በሙሉ ሲጠናቀቅ የማኅበረሰቡን ትስስር ይበልጥ ያጠናክራል፣ ንግድ እና ጉዞን ያቀላጥፋል፣ እንዲሁም የአካባቢውን የኢኮኖሚ ልማት ያፋጥናል።

በዚሁ ጉብኝታችን፣ ከ1997 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ በማህበረሰቡ ጠንካራ መሪነት የያዘውና የታደሰውን የዶርዜ ሎጅ የቱሪዝም መዳረሻ ጎብኝተናል። በ40 ሺህ ካሬ ሜትር ቦታ ላይ፣ በቀዝቃዛውና ሰንሰለታማ የተራራ ጋራ ላይ ያረፈው ይህ አስደናቂ ሥፍራ፣ የአባያና ጫሞ ሐይቆችን እንዲሁም “የእግዜር ድልድይ” ተብሎ የሚጠራውን የተፈጥሮ ድንቅ ዕይታ በአንድ ላይ በግልጽ የሚያሳይ ውብ ገጽታን ይሰጣል።

እንደ ዶርዜ ሎጅ ያሉ መሰል የቱሪስት መዳረሻዎች ጎን ለጎን የሚከናወነው የመንገድ መሠረተ-ልማት መስፋፋት፣ ስፍራው ያለውን እጅግ ከፍተኛ የኢኮኖሚና የባህል አቅም ሙሉ በሙሉ አውጥቶ ለመጠቀም በእጅጉ ያግዛል። በመሆኑም፣ በሃገር ውስጥ እና በውጭ ሃገር የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያንና የዲያስፖራ አባላት፣ እንዲሁም ከመላው ዓለም የሚመጡ ጎብኚዎች ይህንን አስደናቂ የተፈጥሮ ውበትና የበለጸገ የባህል ሐብት እንዲጎበኙና የታሪኩ ተጋሪ እንዲሆኑ ጥሪዬን አቀርባለሁ።

It is an honour to stand today at the 𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗔 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦 national summit held under the theme "From Reform to Lasting Change," I reflected on the journey that has brought us to this moment, a nation that has continuously risen, built the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam with its own hands. These are not chances. They are the results of deliberate choices, anchored in the spirit of Medemer, the conviction that lasting change is built through coming together.

Our reforms are not an end in themselves; they are the foundation we lay for the generations that will come after us. For nation building is a collective work that does not conclude with any single generation, and with that conviction, I call on every Ethiopian to carry this spirit forward, to receive what we have built, and to rise higher still!

Today, at the 'Digital for Excellence' summit, we officially inaugurated the Unified MESOB Application, Africa's first unified digital service application that brings services from across institutions onto a single platform. This milestone is a source of immense national pride and a testament to what deliberate, focused investment in technology can deliver.

MESOB one-stop service is critical economic infrastructure. It saves citizens' time, closes corruption gaps, and strengthens institutional integrity on the government side. Above all, it stands as a clear demonstration that Ethiopia's ambitions are not wishes, they are realities we build with our own hands and our own capacity.

I call on us to consolidate this achievement, share this experience with our African brothers and sisters, and move forward with the determination to deliver even more!
