Bible/Baptist church in Ann Arbor, MI. Want straightforward Bible teaching? A caring church family? Unashamed conservative Christianity? You found it here!
Jesus deepens the love-others command (Lev. 19:18) in John 13:34. Not only are we to love others as we love ourselves, but we are to love others as Jesus has loved us. Our love for others is to be like God's love toward us, not like a selfish twisting of self-love.
A principle I draw from Isaiah 48:3-5--God uses prophecy to combat idolatry.
He gives a prophetic announcement ahead of time so that He gets the credit, instead of someone saying that their idol did it.
@ant_911 It doesn't have to be a topical sermon. ALL Scripture is God-breathed. Of course, there are passages that might be better for the occasion, but don't sell short the opportunity to show the church what a solid expositional Bible message is like.
Make sure that this is NOT you:
"Your faithfulness is like a morning cloud,
and like the early dew it goes away." Hosea 6:4
A temporary, short-lived "faithfulness" is not real faithfulness.
Proverbs 18:1-2 NKJV - Another good reason not to forsake gathering with your local church.
A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment. A fool has no delight in understanding, But in expressing his own heart.
@letgreglive_ Of course, there are other interpretive options, not just the two listed here. See https://t.co/5zq0hnJIMK, especially the table on p. 35.
@letgreglive_ We do. The text offers all the signs of a narration of actual events. It does not have the indications of being poetic or figurative. Besides, what else makes sense? Evolution: that everything came from nothing on its own?
@DrOakley1689 .@DrOakley1689 Do you use the same metrics for the seasonal influenza shot--or do you not take that? Seems like the COVID shot will become part of the seasonal flu shot in the future.
@KCDave84 @ostrachan Dave, could you pls give brief definition of wokeness and give some Scriptures that support this doctrine? It would help us who are less informed on what it is, because it seems like a new thing.
Five new sermons on 1 Corinthians 13 and 14. Feel free to read them, improve them, use them as a help for preaching or teaching a Bible study. https://t.co/KDZTCSOM2A
@mattgaetz The other side is that leaders don't leave their people in the lurch. Sully was off the plane last. Captains are last off the damaged boat. Cruz could do something to exercise leadership in TX instead of leaving during a crisis. If you don't agree, at least agree optics were bad.
@RBOuellette@RBOuellette 1 John 2:19 is not about the Bible translation issue. Thus, your statement is not a good example of sound exegesis. We hope you are not saying that belief in KJVO/TRO is required to be saved. That would be a heretical addition to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
@kwmcfadden Kevin, this is very helpful. Would you say that Packer maintains both the "bankrupt" dimension of faith as well as the "volunteer" dimension or does he lean strongly to the bankrupt dimension? Do you think the charge of "strength and merit" applies to MacArthur's Lordship view?
