Yesterday a Red Plaque was unveiled for Hamish Pettit, who lost his life in the line of duty 47 years ago.

The unveiling was attended by members of Hamish's family, members of Hamish's old watch, and many more.

Today, we unveiled a Red Plaque for fallen Manchester firefighter Wilfred McLaughlan.

The plaque is at the site where the fire took place in 1972. It will ensure his bravery and sacrifice are remembered, and inform the community of what he gave.
