You can really see Elon Musk’s approach to product with how he’s releasing new features in Twitter.
It looks like a fork of agile, but instead of sprints there’s lots and lots of cocaine.
>100 Product Management and Tech books out there.
But which book to read? What fits YOUR situation?
In next 5 mins, I want to help you choose the next book to read in product/tech🧵
Sometimes I need to remind myself that some things should be hard for a PM, like building a vision, or making trade offs between features.
Some things should be easy though, LIKE THIS MEETING!! Just pick a color Bob!!! It’s been 3 f$*%ing hours!!
This Christmas, give the PMs in your family the gift of not asking them what Product Managers actually do for a living.
They don’t know and the question makes them want to cry.
Good PMs of Twitter, I have the privilege of live-tweeting the 2nd session of @lennysan's PM Fundamentals tonight! 🤟
Tonight's topic:🤙Communication
We know it's critical, but what are the practical ways you can up your game?
See below🧵⬇️ starting @ 5PM PST
CEO: “I want you to go out and do rigorous product research, really find out what the users pain points are.
Then I want you to come back with a list of feature recommendations that are exactly the same as what I already want to do”
As a PM, I know that you can’t just tell people something once and expect them to get it. You need to repeat key messages in multiple formats to help stakeholders understand.
But also, I TOLD YOU THIS YESTERDAY!!!! IN THE MEETING I ORGANISED JUST TO TELL YOU THIS!!!!!!
Them: “As a PM I feel like I’m on this constant journey to find the ‘why’ of a great product. Do you feel that?”
Me: “kind of, but it’s more like ‘dear god, why’ for me”
If you are a product manager or if you are considering becoming one, here’s a summary of the key differences between a product manager and a technical product manager (TPM) role 👇
Ok, so... Are you team PM? Or team TPM?
