Thanks #FCPSVanguard for the encouragement and support to take risks! I learned so much as a result. 🎓
I can’t wait to embark on my next journey. I promise to keep innovating ❤️
BCMS Diversity Night was a success! Our EL classes had a prominent display sharing posters of their home countries. And some students even spoke and shared with visitors in English! #soproud#bcmsel
Thanks to Mrs. Rogers, our community liason, for coordinating the event!
And a heartfelt THANK YOU to our 2022-2023 board members.
To our outgoing members: Thank you for your dedication and service to #MDTESOL, English learners, and their educators throughout the state.

Wondering if knowledge-building curriculum can really boost reading comprehension?

Very cool to be a part of my first podcast! Thanks for the opportunity, @InnovativeLaura
If you’ve ever considered stations or how to engage your ELs, I hope you will check it out.
@MeganHailu it was fun chatting you about both of these topics!
Mariah Beaucage and Megan Hailu talked about station rotations from an English Learner’s perspective. Have you wondered how to make your station rotations equitable for EL learners? Take a listen! BONUS: The tips they give benefit ALL Ss, not just ELs!
Thanks to @FCPSBeaucage from Ballenger Creek Middle and @MeganHailu from the English Learners Office for joining me on the Innovators Ignite Podcast! I can’t wait to share this! @FCPS_BCMS@KaitlinMooreEdD @KathyGullESL

Wonderful to see @LarryDSteinly presented with the MD TESOL Lifetime Achievement Award today at the #mdtesol22 conference!
Larry, you are so deserving. Congratulations on this award!
And a sincere thank you for your support as I started my EL career in FCPS. You believed in me.
So fun meeting my partner on the @mdtesol board today,@Mme_Moore !
Paula is such an experienced EL educator/supervisor and I know we will do awesome things for the Western MD interest section!
P.S. Check out our bilingual advocacy shirts! We didn’t even plan it.
What a fun day at the @mdtesol board retreat! I’m proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization that listens to EL educators and seeks to support in a variety of ways!
I can’t wait to work together and collaborate throughout the year!
You know you’re a “traveling” teacher when you get home and STILL have the pen behind your ear.
I’ll be concerned the day I come home with 3 or more. 😂 #teacherproblems
Trying not to look too tired after a very full Day 1 of school. 4 miles (9,400 steps) by 3:30. Whew!
I loved meeting my Ss! Some I have for a second year, so it was fun to see how much they’ve grown!
I’m seeing all kinds of possibilities for this year!

Proud to be a part of Team #fcpsel We may be the “only one” at our schools, but we aren’t alone. I enjoyed connecting with you all and am looking forward to more collaboration this year!
And now our wonderful teachers who serve Walkersville High, Walkersville Middle, Urbana Middle, Windsor Knolls, Gov Thomas Johnson Middle, CTC, Ballenger Creek Middle, and Heather Ridge! They are an awesome group! #fcpsel

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Yesterday our EL English class took time to write what they are thankful for. Then I challenged them to write thank you notes directly to those people. As you can see, they got really into it. ❤️🦃
