COPWatch's latest article describes how the @WHO pretends nicotine pouches are an existential threat to humanity in its bizarre anti harm reduction report, while cigarettes remain on sale everywhere. 🤡🚬

New at COPWatch: The WHO vs. The Tiny Mint Pillow of Doom
We read the @WHO's abject report on nicotine pouches so you don't have to. It reads like an instruction manual for how to protect cigarettes from competition.

Mr. Vobořil was a member of the Czech delegate at the recent COP11 in Geneva. He was in the room, from where most media and observers are banned. And what he witnessed has left him gobsmacked!
"I was at that meeting in Geneva and it was a shocking experience."

COP11 delegates "were urged to regulate SNP more harshly than cigarettes—protecting products that kill while strangling potential of substitutes that don't."

Harm reduction works. And until the FCTC is willing to grapple honestly with that fact, its gatherings will continue to be political theater rather than genuine public-health leadership.

"#FCTCCOP11 exposed that the FCTC is at a crossroads, either evolving into a genuinely global governance model, or doubling down on a system that many countries now openly reject"

The real merchants of death were in the room at #FCTCCOP11 trying to prevent a billion people having access to products that will radically reduce their disease risks, ignoring the adolescents who take up smoking every day, denying the harmful effects of war-on-drugs prohibitions, presenting unworkable and unethical policies, spreading misinformation and doubt, exploiting young people for campaign tactics, getting high on infantile billionaire-funded activism - above all, wasting opportunities to do something useful while protecting the cigarette trade. A macabre spectacle of arrogance and ineptitude, displaying utter indifference to human pain and suffering.
Its participants deserve far greater scrutiny.

While bringing #FCTCCOP11 to a close, the president of #COP11 INCORRECTLY refers to novel products bringing 'disability and death'. No wonder we have no faith in you! #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs
Live stream started but now muted - Azerbaijan raised that there would be 'bureaucratic issues' for them if #COP12 is held in Armenia. The secretariat's legal people are now looking into it.

Benin is giving a statement, on behalf of African region - refers to two agenda items having been postponed. We are guessing that's 4.4 and 4.5 #FCTCCOP11
New bureau members and regional coordinators just elected. The next presidency goes to Oman. Now a ten minute break while they try to resolve the Armenia/Azerbaijan issue (could they not have foreseen that one?!)
