@JessePeltan The incentive of the builders is not aligned with the interest of the future home owner. Low construction cost and acquisition vs lowest operating cost. That does not help the overall cost and affordability (and directly the quantity) of energy to the home…
That’s not what I recall but my memory might be failing. $20k after incentives means that they would be at price announced at launch, which is way more respectable!
I still think the price is a little high for the value delivered. As a small (work) truck, I can see the benefit, as an SUV, there is more value in used vehicle (Tesla model 3 and y) for the same price.
But I can be wrong and wish them the best for sure!
@DillonLoomis Agree and I was expecting some cost creep but going from $17k to $25k is significant and makes you wonder if it was just a launch tactic to get funding through reservations…
@SimonSaysKnow@Tesla Can’t blame you for wanting a close course. 😅
Agree that FSD would never have gone that speed without a mechanical failure or an override from the driver!
@SawyerMerritt Makes me realize the mistake that Henry Ford did with the model T! He should have added horse sounds and simulated horse droppings to his model T! People would have adopted it faster!
This is so backward in so many ways!
Oh I do have faith in them too but it’s getting long without somewhat of an update that is not cosmetic. My car is 4 years old. Not 10! Paid full price for FSD ($10K), took close 6 months to get FSD, got updates for two years and see no progress for the last year.
I get we focus on autonomy first and then will fix HW3. But it’s one thing to say, hey, it’s the best we got and it’s not quite autonomous vs there is much better version but you bought your car a year to early, paid more for the car and FSD and for the next 2 years, you will run the very old versions until we can get you a light version, ie. not as feature rich!
And to the argument of just upgrade! No. The value of my car was $15K below what I owe on it. So no I won’t upgrade until someone is covering that gap.
I would even go and pay (up to a point) to get an upgrade to AI4 hardware. But right now, it’s radio silence and reading between the line of v14 announcements in hope to have something for us HW3 owners.
Always asked for flight following u less you stay in the pattern. Cheap insurance in case something happens…
If you don’t want to do flight following, is to put the frequency on the second radio for the departure control or for who ever is supposed to control the airspace you are in and monitor. Makes it easier to jump in if needed. Had one case where the controller was talking about my plane and I was able to join in and clarify my intent.
@JJackBrandt@DillonLoomis@tesla it would be nice to have an emergency button on the screen that could fully take over the driving (for FSD supervised) and provide options for nearby ER. It can also start flashing light to attract attention for first responder and make sure the doors stays unlocked.
