It was rainy, it was chilly. But FDR XC had the best time at the NY State Nighttime Showcase! What’s better than a Cross Country race? How about a Cross Country race at night?!! Our squad had a blast!

OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A RACE!

IN A PHOTO FINISH, it's world champion Noah Lyles 🇺🇸 that grabs the first Olympic gold medal of his career in 9.79.

Just five-THOUSANDTHS of a second separated Lyles and Kishane Thompson 🇯🇲 in silver position. Fred Kerley 🇺🇸 was just .02 seconds behind for bronze in 9.81.

What a great weekend at States for FDR Track & Field! Congrats to our amazing athletes who competed: Noah Tarkos (LJ and HJ), Edgar Quinonez (Disc), Jordyn Jones (100), Marina Scott (400). Shoutout to Marina for winning a well deserved State medal!

Big day at the Section 9 Championships for FDR! Silver medalists were Noah Tarkos in high jump, and Marina Scott in the 400. Congrats to Aidan Ferragine, the Section 9 champ in Steeplechase and Edgar Quinonez who is the Section 9 champ in Discus breaking the FDR school record!

MHAL Champs! It was a long night and a ton of hard work but a total team effort led to both the boys and girls FDR Track & Field teams winning the 2024 MHAL Championship. What a night! Hard work pays off!

Kevin Lee leaped to school history on day one of the MAAC Outdoor Championships for @MaristXCTF.

His long jump of 6.93 meters (22 feet, 9 inches) beats the previous school record that was set in 1975.

What a busy but great weekend for FDR XC/TF at Ocean Breeze. Congrats to our medalists: Ajani Barnes in soph long jump, Dafina Berisha in weight throw, Olivia Peek in racewalk, and Marina Scott in the soph 400 and 200. Marina also broke her own FDR school record in the 200!
