@fdsc460 I love this tomato soup. Not too sour, not too sweet. Fully taste of tomato with other spices. They also have a corn bread in this soup. We eat it with the bread in the middle basket. Awesome combination. Love it.
Spätzle, a popular starchy side dish in Germany, can be made using just four ingredients: AP flour, eggs, salt, and water! Once the dough is made, it is pressed through a Spätzle press directly into salted boiling water. A yummy variation on the dish is Käsespätzle🧀 🇩🇪 @fdsc460
@fdsc460 One of the very first pieces of food regulation was the Reinheitsgebot, first enacted in Munich in 1487 and more famously in all of Bavaria in 1516! This "purity law" dictated that beer was only to include barley, hops, and water (notably not yeast!)

I am a big fan of chocolate. When I was young, I wrote down my dream list as traveling and exploring the chocolate taste around the world. Although, it is super hard to accomplish this goal, however, I am going to taste the chocolate in GERMANY!! Woooo!
@fdsc460
My favorite chocolate brand since I was young is Ritter Sport. This brand is actually from Germany! I love 50% Cacao. I am excited to explore Ritter Sport in Germany this time. The fun fact is it's super yummy but I ate all in once and realized it's more than 500 Cal. @fdsc460
@fdsc460 All hands on deck! Dairy lab made cheddar cheese today. Cheddar cheese has a higher moisture content then Parmigiano reggiano because of its larger curd size, which retains more water.
@fdsc460 Some Italian salami is covered with rice flour. This keeps it gluten free. Salami that isn’t covered in flour is reserved for regions of Italy that prefer not to have the flour on it.
Need another reason to eat Parmeggiano-Reggiano? It is lactose free due to process parameters - enzymes and pH effects. According to the PDO, it also is easily digestible! https://t.co/PeBBtYAkjm @fdsc460
Dyk that Tiramisu, an Italian desert made of ladyfingers dipped in coffee layered with a mixture of whipped eggs, sugar, and mascarpone cheese, topped with cocoa, originates back in the 1960s in various parts of Italy-mostly Veneto. It means “pick me up” & it sure is @fdsc460
@fdsc460 Those breakfast pastries that many of you ate every morning for breakfast were not croissants, but they were actually cornettis. The difference is that they are softer and have an infused citrus taste.
