@m6502 @DasDzy @Karolis66393950 @jenndpelaez @mb2100 @jdnoc @dvassallo I had what was available back then, but that’s irrelevant for the question at hand: it is just much easier to dip the toe with a game sdk targeted at kids, than write low level shader code for OpenGL. When it is still fun then, they can and will keep digging deeper.

I did start with C in the same agerange (because I found microcontrollers exciting) and it absolutely demotivated me back then. It took another 3-5 years and getting into webdev until the interest for C came back.

Google in die Schranken weisen stelle ich mir anders vor - was gar kein Vorwurf ist, nur ein frommer Wunsch.
