@realcavsfans Without knowing how you're defining those terms, I don't think I can say one way or another. But what IS happening is there is less money going to the smallest and larger cap hits, more going to the middle.

One take I'll always have is that you are who you are as a rebounder.

I often hear that it's an effort thing or athleticism thing. It's not.

Guys don't change in their ability to rebound the ball.

I performed an ICC analysis that evaluates which NBA stats (per 100) are the most consistent on a YoY basis.

7 seasons of data with 1219 player seasons

A major takeaway is the reliability of rebounding/positional stats vs the unreliability of efficiency.

@birdrightsnba @stocksreaves Right. Like there's nothing physically advantageous that Podz has but he's a very good rebounder. Do physical attributes help? Absolutely. But if all else was equal, there's some guys that just see it and some that just dont

Outside of Dejounte and old man Deandre, I'm not sure the Pels have positional rebounding advantage anywhere.

For the Pelicans, most of their key players are not good defensive rebounders. That fact will simply not change.

It's not a toughness or effort thing. You have to plan around that fact.

Outliers don't define patterns. He's a historic talent at what he does. Same with Russ and other great small rebounders.
