"This government is treating Palestine Action as equivalent to Islamic State or Al Qaeda, which is intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong. Frankly I'm deeply ashamed"
Labour peer Peter Hain in the Lords in July last year
Francesca Albanese has been sanctioned for doing her job and demanding an end to the Genocide in Palestine. The EU has failed to protect her, the UN has failed to protect her.
In this video message .@FranceskAlbs updates us on the current state of affairs regarding the US imposed sanctions on her and the ongoing legal battle in the US to have them removed.
Please watch and share Francesca´s update on the Court Case and continue raising awareness about our petition to pressure the EU to do its job!
Veteran war correspondent Janine di Giovanni drops the uncomfortable truth:
"If a missile hits a hospital in Ukraine, Europe calls it a war crime.
But if missiles hit a hospital in Gaza and 100 people die, it’s suddenly Israel’s right to defend itself."
This isn't journalism. This is selective outrage.
Western capitals that rallied sanctions, weapons, and moral condemnation against Russia in Ukraine suddenly lose their voice or invent excuses when the same horrors unfold in Gaza. Hospitals. Schools. Civilian shelters.
Where is the consistency? Where is the universal application of international law?
The Global South sees it clearly: Some victims are more equal than others. Hypocrisy isn't a bug in the system it's the operating manual.
Africa watches. The world watches. History will judge this double standard harshly.
🚨 Robert De Niro with a brutal reflection on patriotism:
“Loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.”
I also want my country back.
I want to love Britain again.
Brexit, like Trump, changed this country for the worse.
It brought decline, division, higher costs, lost opportunities and broken promises instead of the brighter future we were sold.
Ten years of damage is enough. I want the Britain I could be proud of.

Respectfully @rburgessbbc please can @bbcnews cover this?

Please can the BBC tell the public that one of our leading climate scientists Prof @HayleyJFowler has warned the public that the U.K. could at any time see a catastrophic 2/3 of a years rainfall in one day, enough to drown the tube system and wash homes and cars away
I hope this isn’t true. There are times when it’s more important to put country before party. This is one of them. Burnham’s longstanding commitment to a fairer voting system could transform our democracy & counter dire threat of a Reform UK government https://t.co/PNfl5GnB0X
Oh! Lol. Suzanne Ashman Blair, Tony’s daughter in law, Euan’s wife, new head of £500m UK govt AI fund..AND I now realise she also led investment seed round on behalf of LocalGlobe into…drumroll….Tortoise Media!!😂😂😂
This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: https://t.co/aMMHId49OO
While the world’s eyes are on Iran, Israeli settler violence in the West Bank is rising. The Economist analyses how settlers are annexing more territory, empowered by tacit and explicit support from Binyamin Netanyahu’s government. The body of the Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found by rescuers after several hours of digging in the rubble after an Israeli strike. She is the fourth journalist to have been killed by Israeli forces in seven weeks. This is why the word ‘journacide’ is now being used.
Israel killed every single person in this photo in Lebanon.
Every. Single. One.
All journalists.
Targeted and assassinated intentionally.
For reporting the truth from the frontlines.
Israel’s murder of journalists continues. The details of what happened to Amal Khalil are horrific. The Red Cross tried to rescue her but were themselves fired on.
How is Israel allowed such total impunity? Why is the international press not in uproar?
Time and time again we hear govt ministers condemn Israel's flagrant breaches of international law but take no real action. This is simply not enough.
Ban settlement trade, stop all arms sales to and military cooperation with Israel, and pursue investigations into war crimes.
