@SFBART@Chevron County Connection currently owns eight electric buses, but any given week, they feel lucky if they can get 1 (one) of them operable. Imagine not being able to shoot a video to brag about your fancy #ev buses because there is no confidence a single one of them is up and runningπ€’
Yesterday, at the San Ramon TAC meeting, we had an insightful conversation with Andrew Smith, Director of Marketing at County Connection, our local #bus operator. I am eager to share a few highlights )
@SFBART@Chevron One unexpected thing that came up was the tentative switch to electric buses. There are just two US-based manufacturers of #EV buses that can be sourced with federally assisted funding but the technology has not yet reached transit-worthy reliability.
@minchoi C'mon man. What exactly do you see as a "game-changer" here? All these examples are half-ass unremarkable ads, just produced a little faster and a little cheaper than normal ads.
@humantransit People have been fleeing Oakland for decades because it is a tragically mismanaged sinkhole of a city with no hope and no future. Half of those born in Oakland in the last thirty years now live happily in Nevada )
Brilliant comment from @NYTimes reader.
βThe very best thing that the Democrats can do for themselves is not ideological. It is to make the deep Blue cities and states where they have a supermajority into American paradises. Los Angeles, New York, California, Baltimore, Chicago, etc. Show us that you can got her an effectively. Low crime, great schools, moderate taxes, excellent mass transit, etc. Then the rest of the country will come to believe that your way is the right way. Because it is not what we have seen.β
That's right. A lot of confusion comes from the fact that most talikng heads in the media live above the red line of 10th income percentile. They just cant comprehend the feelings and lived experiences of those who live below the green line of 50th percentile. They just can't.
Here's a very simple theory of why the Democrats lost so decisively:
Their recent economic wins primarily benefitted low-turnout groups of voters and the people who actually vote felt they were harmed.
@Krishan_A_Patel@ArmandDoma Sorry to break it to you, but funding unporductive nonprofits is how CA establishment makes a living and stays in power. It will never change.
@jdabre11 Latino VOTERS are in this country legally. They worked hard, jumped through the immigration hoops, and made it. They are in full support of secure borders and mass deportation of illegals who are hacking the system.
@choeshow NH is a safely blue state now. Goodlander, good for nothing as she is, leads in all polls by a good margin and probably already orders champaign to celebrate
@MrMatthewTodd Climate change is inevitable. If we all cease to exist tomorrow, it will happen anyway. Hence, we must stop greenwashing, like subsidising "green energy," and start seriously investing in climate resilience. We must secure our critical infrastructure and brace for impact.
Idk when and where Hollywood took a wrong term and lost creative capability, but it certainly happened. There were days when Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump and Escape from Shawshank were released competitively. Now all we can hope for is a Barbeheimer once in a decade.
