@deepfates there will be another Vernadsky, Korzybsky, Dobzhansky moment. like there was Kauffman, Friston, Levin moment. but you gotta be obsessed. and we seem to be just low key obsessed. someone will come out of the woodwork soon
@gmiller@TylerAlterman 100%.
from 1999 itโs the most value, impact, good for the mind and the soul game.
Age of Wonders, Arcanum, Black and White, Cossacks, Spore, Gothic, X-Tension all get honorable mention for different reasons. But Civ is truly a queen.
Scramblers. The species look similar to starfish, and they constantly move their arms in order to circulate fluid, which gives them the name. They are covered in hundreds of eyes which can focus and adjust independently, acting as a single visual array that gives them excellent vision. They do not have any genome and instead the shape of their body emerges from complex interactions between the cells, and the body seems to be 'at war' with itself. To reproduce, they use a form of budding. Scramblers do not require oxygen, as they are born with a store of energy, but require strong magnetic fields or else they become sick and die. Many of their metabolic functions appear to be regulated by the Rorschach, not the scramblers themselves.
