Most pesticide contaminated fruit/vegetables:
1. Spinach, the worst of them all. 75% of conventional samples contained permethrin, a neurotoxic pesticide banned in Europe. Popeye was wrong.
2. Kale/collard greens. >50% contained DCPA, a pesticide and possible human carcinogen according to the EPA. Also often high in thallium, a toxic heavy metal.
3. Strawberries. 30% of samples contained more than 10 different pesticides. Contained 82 different pesticides, overall.
4. Grapes
5. Nectarines
6. Peaches. 67% had 4 or more pesticide residues.
7. Cherries. This one hurts me. I love cherries, will only buy organic.
8. Apples. 65% contained Diphenylamine, a pesticide banned in Europe.
9. Blackberries. 58 different pesticides detected across all samples.
10. Pears. 1 in 3 pears contained carbendazim, a fungicide which is toxic to the male reproductive system and possible carcinogen.
11. Potatoes. Often contaminated with chlopropham, likely hormone disrupting.
12. Blueberries. Often contaminated with phosmet and malathion, organophosphate pesticides linked with lower IQ in kids (PMID: 21507776).
Organic verisons of these may cost more but they will undoubtedly decrease you/your family's pesticide exposure.

That shirt is for fallen Ct state trooper Aaron Pelletier. We've raised millions for those who have fallen in line of duty. I've personally donated over a millions myself. More importantly now is good time to remind people to donate to @Tunnel2Towers to support first responders
