Kilted kiwi, likes to cycle, likes music, likes to dance, likes the beach, likes wine, likes knitting & a WI member... but not necessarily all at the same time
@edinhelp corner Queensferry st & QF lane, w/end. Definitely unsightly, probably a hazard, no longer serving a purpose.
So why still here? Please retweet those who know who to retweet to
@fountainbridge@LivingStreetsEd A friend of mine lived on Richmond Tce 30 yrs ago & everyone parked on the wall side of the road, didn't need to drive on pavement as vehicles were smaller/thinner π€·ββοΈ
@MarkusHiemann @CllrScottArthur Also this junction already in need of repair. Circled bit - missing slabs. Just off photo to left there are damaged slabs. Also lots of debri
@JanetThomas47 Well done you π Also sadly my experience. So many short journeys done by car (<5 miles), big powers need to educate why this is bad for health, environment & personal finances. Tragically the car is king
@david_mccraw When visiting cafes/shops here (always by bike) make a point of saying how fab it all is... which it is. Except for exit from Wester coates terr onto cycleway which already has cracked slabs, some unsealed bits & loose gravel on it.
@VicNicSNP@julebandel @HalOsler @maxmitchell91 Thank you @VicNicSNP for clarification & passing on to appropriate councillors. Was going by this map so please excuse my error but difficult to see exactly which ward this junction is in.
The pedestrian refuge @ N end of Clermiston rd at recently refurbished junction. Helmet to give perspective on space btwn railing & pole for control panel. Could a double buggy or wide w/chair would get thru. Who signed this off? @julebandel @HalOsler @maxmitchell91@VicNicSNP
Crossing from N side QF rd. Pavement no wider than previous but opening is, onto 40mph rd that 100s of school kids cross daily; is designated cycle route not wide enough for a bike π€¦ββοΈ Poor placement of poles cause obstruction, unlikely buggy, w/Ch could safely use this crossing
Edinburgh tweeters! This bike has been locked to post at Roseburn path junction adjacent to Craigleith retail park for almost 24 hours (since I first saw it) Possibly stolen? Reported to 101. Please share on relevant s/media platforms
@chelseaAM26 @CllrScottArthur Island "refuge". Helmet for perspective on width, why is that pole not closer to "protective" railings on right? Also quite steep rumble zone
@chelseaAM26 @CllrScottArthur Speed more. Light sequencing still v much geared towards road traffic. Whoever designed this & signed it off should be ashamed
@chelseaAM26 @CllrScottArthur North side of QF road. Red arrows - poles blocking pavement. Green arrow - increased length of unprotected pavement, which is no wider & frequently busy with school children
