—Whatcha doin’?
—Plotting.
The bee followed the serpent’s gaze to the fruit.
—I got in a lot of trouble for pollinating those flowers. Not allowed to work in the garden anymore, and if I try to fuck, I explode.
—Why didn’t you die?
—You won’t certainly die, for certainty is evil.
As a priest, I’ll say this:
I am empty. My burden is light, revealing what you ought to covet with all your heart, mind, and soul. Blessed is the true desire which uplifts and can never be fulfilled. My yoke is easy, for I must be born again.
As I am, I’ll say this, on the first day:
Gaze over the land promised to you and your descendants forever. Make straight the way of the Lord. Keep the covenant of I AM THAT I AM. The courageous choose a life of terror. Fear life more than you fear death, for I must be born again.
Fear is the coming of our Lord: reality imposing on our little-selves, defined precisely as the bits of us opposing reality. Disperse, ye rebels, but whether from fawn or fight, any humiliation is proportional to the resistance, or ignorance, of the reality which it calls forth.
As a merchant, I'll say this:
I am the gate. Pass through me and store up treasure in heaven. Merely what was yours is now mine and what was mine is now yours, and yet what’s ours together is now miraculously greater. Why would we steal from each other when I must be born again?
I’ll confess my spiritual efforts have only served to convince me the West is the best. Sure, it’s a mess, but it’s a giant open-air error correction mechanism, so what’s there to condemn exactly? Honestly wonder about those who read the same stuff and end up slaves on a commune.
Be as you are, but be as I am.
The fact we are having an egoic experience now is the fact of eternal life: this observation is independent of and prior to whoever we appear to be and whatever we are experiencing. I live only for a moment; every moment is a lifetime for who I am.
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock.
"Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
The truth is no one thought Jesus deserved to die, only that it was necessary. We know they were wrong, and we are free.
Certainly the certainty of condemnation condemns it. Confess it readily: Discern this log and let our neighbor remove the speck by which he stands condemned.
Bring to attention eyes on the back of its neck. There! It looks for who’s looking. See? The not finding is the finding it has no idea we’re here, but seeing as awareness is bound in judgement with attention wandering in the wilderness, let us make straight the way of the Lord.
“There is a word, an expression, that replaces ‘scapegoat’ much better and that we should use everytime we say that a victim has been condemned unjustly, but we don't use it because it will remind us of Christianity. It is ‘the lamb of God.’”
— An informal talk by René Girard, 1994
Ego is a form and a symbol. A word. Seemingly illusory in that it can point to anything, so its true meaning is the emptiness prior to everything, which, as it is, we hear shouting in the wilderness: Make way for the Lord. Anyone who stands in the way will suffer.
Totalitarianism in vogue, you might be eager to choose between the popular socialist, fascist, or Islamic varieties, but it's worth remembering America already has a totalizing principle all its own: I am that I am, which endows us with certain unalienable rights, born equals.
The Son of Man preoccupies Emptiness, removing the sins of the world, removing all memory of suffering. He tells us—I am the Word: In the beginning was I. I was with God. I was God—He was there in the beginning before the surface was shattered by darkness escaping from the light.
@vividvoid I laugh/tease / Why are you lying? and then there’s almost always a way to act according to the truth that avoids what they feared and eventually they see there’s no point in lying to me or we’re not very close
