It was great spending time with residents at Capitol Hill Tower yesterday, talking about the issues that matter most to our seniors.
As your next DC Council At-Large Member, I’ll keep fighting for affordable housing, quality healthcare, and a District where every generation can thrive.
The work continues.
This week I met with the Monumental team to discuss youth sports, gender equity, access to facilities and equipment, and the role major institutions should play in strengthening our communities.
As your next DC Council At-Large Member, I’ll continue pushing for real investment, real partnerships, and real outcomes that expand opportunity across every ward, not just more meetings.
The work continues.
This Saturday I am marching in the Palisades 4th of July parade, and I hope you can join me.
Independence Day means something particular in DC. We are the only Americans who pay full federal taxes, send our children to serve in every war, and still do not have a single vote in Congress. We celebrate what this country is supposed to stand for, and we keep pushing to make it real here at home.
I will be at 4700 Whitehaven Pkwy NW at 10AM. Come march with us if you can. And if this heat has other plans for you, celebrate the 4th however keeps you safe and cool. We will be out there representing for all of DC either way.

I was honored to provide welcoming greetings at EMY Africa’s inaugural Washington Soirée. Here, I spoke about local tourist attractions and opportunities.
DC must prioritize increasing the local international presence as we look to strengthen our economy.
Honored to have been part of the @repoyedc campaign.
In DC's first-ever ranked-choice election, Oye has a commanding lead in the at-large field carried by the dedication & creativity of @bobschlehuber@BryanWeaverDC & @feeling_blaccc
Socialists won up & down the ballot. That's a mandate. DC is done with the status quo. 🌹
Grateful to celebrate with @dc4d tonight and reflect on what grassroots organizing can accomplish.
This victory belongs to the DC residents, volunteers, and supporters who knocked doors, made calls, and showed up. Congratulations to Keith Ivey on his years of service, and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
The primary is over, but the work continues. Onward to November.
Just wanted to say thank you.
To everyone who supported this campaign, volunteered, donated, voted, and believed in our vision for DC, I’m grateful.
This is your victory too. Now, let’s keep building toward November.

Honored to receive the endorsement of SEIU Local 500.
Working families deserve fair wages, strong labor protections, and leaders who will fight for them every day. As your next At-Large Councilmember, that’s exactly what I’ll do.

I was proud to join immigrants and first-generation Washingtonians to discuss what makes DC home.
The District is stronger because of the people and communities who call it home. As your Councilmember, I’ll fight to keep DC affordable, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Proud of this team. 💙
In the rain, in the cold, in the heat—they keep showing up.
Knocking doors. Listening to neighbors. Sharing a message of hope and a vision for a more affordable, welcoming DC.
This campaign is powered by people who believe our city can be better.
Yesterday, I joined IUPAT, IBEW, Plumbers Local 5, and AFL-CIO members on the National Mall to stand up for DC workers.
Every worker deserves fair wages, safe working conditions, and access to paid family leave. The people who keep our city running deserve leaders who will fight for them, not just when it’s convenient, but every day.
I’m committed to being that voice on the Council.
