🚨 ADK not only receives subsidised (11 MVR/SQFT) land, they receive heavily subsidised electricity from STELCO at a very low fixed rate, only slightly higher than the domestic tariff.

During Ibu’s gov, Faya pushed to remove this subsidy and move ADK to normal commercial rates, arguing that it was unfair to other businesses, particularly small and medium sized enterprises. The proposal was nearly approved but was later overruled by President’s Office.

To this day, ADK remains the only commercial organisation in the country that continues to enjoy this electricity subsidy. It is also the only hospital in the world that uses profits from its gov subsidised hospital operations to expand into resorts and other lucrative businesses.

I will fully censor your name, date, reference numbers and any personal details before posting. I want to show everyone, especially those who have never been to ADK, exactly how much money is being extracted from ordinary Maldivians and funneled into this hospital. This is taxpayer subsidised wealth being transferred straight from the poor and middle class to make the rich even richer, while the rest of us struggle.
