🎉 Happy Birthday, David Parr! 🎉
Today marks 170 years since the birth of the Victorian decorative artist behind the extraordinary interiors of David Parr House. In this photo, David stands next to his wife Mary Jane in the back garden of 186 Gwydir Street.

Birmingham could easily have demolished the last Back to Backs for a tower. But that would have been really, really stupid. They're now a huge tourist attraction.
We risk doing the same to Station Street, The Electric & The Crown. It would be monumentally stupid long term.

Very pleased to find a female perched on a King’s chapel spire adjacent to where the male was also perched. The condition of the coloured ring on her left leg suggests it’s TVH from Wakefield but couldn’t 100% confirm it’s her. She eventually flew to St John’s chapel.
@jennyharicot If you haven’t read Elly Griffiths’ Ruth Galloway series, they might suit. 15 books, set mostly in North Norfolk, with side trips to Walsingham, Cambridge, etc. Worth reading in order, bc although a different crime in each one, there are also ongoing relationships btw characters.

As Rishi says, 30mph is a good British speed in that it embodies the good old fashioned British sense of fair play and healthy competition. Maybe the car will come out on top or maybe the cycling child will. At 20mph the child will usually live, which seems unfair on the car. 🇬🇧
GBNews was the broadcast embodiment of Brexit. That’s why @afneil helmed it & why *anyone* who understood Brexit knew it would descend in to bigotry, racism, bogus victimhood & conspiracies. As with Brexit, there is no pleasure in being proved completely right about everything.
I didn’t say either of these things, and I am extremely disappointed that the @thetimes implied I did. Newspapers sometimes write inflammatory headlines that don’t correspond with the content of the article or the views of its subject.
