@f_alperowitch The $170 carbon tax by 2030 that was just announced should help! Canada had 10 years of conservative government that didn't do much for the environment. Onwards and upwards!

@f_alperowitch I agree on both points: (1) no boundaries - that's why these charts showing hand-picked countries and arbitrary base year don't tell the whole story. (2) Oil majors making commitments for the future. Let's take them, and countries, to task and track their progress

@f_alperowitch That's not entirely fair. You have to look at the structural components of the economy. Comparing industrial and resource based countries like Canada, USA and Japan with service based economies like France is misleading. And Germany in 1990 includes East Germany emissions so...
