#UK I am deeply disturbed by the deteriorating health of Palestine Action activists on hunger strike for over 45 days. Today, 20-year-old Qesser Zuhrah was hospitalised in critical condition. Colleagues and I wrote to the gvt about the association's proscription (links below) 1/
The double tap strike on Nasser Hospital in Gaza by Israeli forces is the latest violation of international law under Benjamin Netanyahu.
These are not ‘mistakes’ - these are the deliberate actions and policies of Israel’s government.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant in November 2024. Yet, states like the US and other allies, continue to undermine the ICC, emboldening Israel to commit further crimes.
The UK has a legal duty to do all in its power to prevent international crimes, including genocide.
We need action, not words.
History and the courts are watching.
Watch and share now.
Ahead of Saturday’s Defend Our Juries protests, Amnesty International UK has written to the Met Police Commissioner urging him to instruct officers to comply with the UK’s international obligations and act with restraint in their response to peaceful protesters.
It is disproportionate, and a clear violation of the UK’s human rights obligations, to be arresting them and treating them as terrorists.
The police should approach these protests in compliance with the international human rights standards that the UK has signed up to.

“We will not be intimidated by racists. The riots were targeted, organized and racially motivated attacks.”
Kash is part of the Belfast Islamic Centre, a vibrant place for community, prayer and dialogue.
It was targeted last year in the racist violence that swept Belfast in August 2024.
And in June 2025, a live bomb was thrown inside during evening prayer.
This hasn’t happened in a vacuum.
Online hate is flourishing, amplifying racism across society with serious offline consequences.
And X is making money from it.
Our analysis links X’s recommender algorithm to the amplification of content which incited violence against Muslims and migrants. X must be held to account. Read on: https://t.co/o8nfcm7p8c
Despite horrifying testimonies and headlines, the Israeli authorities’ mass starvation campaign and genocide in Gaza rages on.
Thousands across the UK took to the streets to demand the UK government comply with its legal obligations to help end the siege, mass starvation and stop all arms to Israel now.
Palestinians are trapped in a cycle of hope and heartbreak, waiting for assistance, ceasefires and to survive.
The continued inaction from our government is an abject failure to help stop Israel’s genocide, apartheid, and occupation.
Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
It sounds inconceivable. But it’s the truth.
Israel is taking deliberate, coordinated action to destroy the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Explicit statements by Israeli officials, combined with a consistent policy of destructive attacks and other practices of annihilation, prove beyond a doubt that Israel’s target is the entire population of Gaza.
Entire cities razed to the ground; medical, educational, religious and cultural infrastructure systematically destroyed; 2 million Palestinians forcibly displaced with the aim of expelling them from Gaza; and, of course, mass starvation and killing - all this amounts to an explicit attempt to destroy the population of Gaza and impose living conditions so catastrophic that Palestinian society cannot continue to exist there.
That is the exact definition of genocide.
The report we are releasing today is a warning: The ideology driving the Israeli regime is not confined to Gaza.
The same regime, the same army, the same leaders and the same commanders are implementing extremely violent practices against Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and within Israel. We are already witnessing the spillover of practices Israel is using in Gaza to other areas - on a different scale, but guided by the same logic. In the West Bank, this is taking the form of airstrikes, demolition of refugee camps, mass evictions, and the deliberate destruction of Palestinian economy and society.
No Palestinian who lives under the genocidal Israeli regime is safe.
There is no justification for genocide – not “self-defense”, not “security”, and not the heinous acts committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which triggered profound existential fear among Israelis.
The international community has not only failed in its duty to stop the atrocities, but the leaders of the Western world, particularly the United States and Europe, also share responsibility by providing support that enables Israel’s acts of destruction. It is the duty of the international community to stop the genocide Israel is carrying out in Gaza.
On social media, we are seeing footage of people buried under bombed-out buildings, displaced persons’ camps on fire, children starving, people desperate for water, and hospitals left unable to treat the injured and the sick.
As a human rights organization it is our duty and responsibility to say the truth: Genocide is happening, right here and right now.
This is our genocide, and we need to stop it.

Israel's genocide in Gaza is continuing unabated.
Over a month since the introduction of its militarized aid distribution system, the catastrophic suffering continues, and Israel continues to use starvation of civilians as a method of warfare against Palestinians in Gaza and to deliberately impose conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction.
Israel must lift all restrictions and allow unfettered, safe, and dignified access to humanitarian aid throughout Gaza immediately.
Instead of taking draconian measures to shut down direct action protesters and criminalise anyone who expresses support for their actions, the Government should be taking immediate and unequivocal action to put a stop to Israel’s genocide and end any risk of UK complicity in it.

"The most important thing is not to lose the humanity."
Spanish actor, Javier Bardem, spoke about Gaza and Israel's lack of accountability from the international community on the US TV show The View. It's been reported Bardem wasn't on set after the commercial break.
🚨 £5bn cut from social security. That's what's missing from today's headlines.
While everyone's talking about Rachel Reeves' big spending plan, people already struggling are facing more hardship.
We asked the people she's meant to represent in Leeds what they think of the cuts 👇

British citizen Ahmed al-Doush has been sentenced to 10 years in Saudi Arabia after a family holiday. No clear charges. No fair trial. No justice. UK must act now to bring him home.
Our Response: "“We strongly condemn this sentence and reiterate our urgent call on the Saudi authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Ahmed al-Doush, if he is being held solely for peacefully exercising his human rights. He must be allowed to return to his family in the UK without delay. In the meantime, Saudi authorities must uphold his fair trial rights, promptly share his court documents with him and guarantee regular access to both his family and legal counsel."

Amnesty International UK is concerned about today’s reports of a further misuse of anti-terrorism powers against Palestine Action.
This is now the second instance in which direct action protest has been subject to the UK’s overly broad terrorism laws, which are wide open to misuse and abuse. We will continue to monitor developments in this case closely.
