Navigating the road of transport and logistics with efficiency and precision. Delivering connections that drive progress. #TransportAndLogistics#EdgitLogistics
Every country needs a grand symbol in the skies, and for Kenya, that flying palace is Harambee One. While the Americans cruise in a massive Boeing, Kenya waliamua kuchukua a humbler approach in 1995 wakanunua Fokker 70 Extended Range kutoka Netherlands. Maintained by the Kenya Air Force under the callsign Kenya One, this twin engine jet became the ultimate VIP transport for four consecutive heads of state.
Life at the top has not always been a smooth cruise for this legendary aircraft. Harambee One has given Kenyan presidents some very relatable transport frustrations over the decades. Kulikua na hii time when the plane door jammed, leaving President Daniel arap Moi stranded at the airport for five hours. Later, President Uhuru Kenyatta had to abort a trip to Dubai midflight when the jet threw a mechanical tantrum.
Shida kubwa inasemekana manufacture alikua anaitwa Fokker, na he went completely bankrupt in 1996, just a year after Kenya bought the plane. Kupata spare parts for a machine whose maker vanished before the millennium required elite levels of hustle. The genius air force engineers basically had to become mechanical magicians, sourcing rare components from third party suppliers just to keep the old bird flying.
All good things must come to an end, and the aircraft is finally grounded. After a recent mechanical mishap left President William Ruto stranded in Dar es Salaam, forcing a humiliating hitchhike on a smaller prop plane, the government decided enough was enough. The thirty year old veteran was recently flown back to Europe for its final checkup before official retirement.
It leaves behind a grand legacy of political drama and mechanical resilience. As the country prepares to phase out this legendary jet, it marks the end of a unique aviation era. This hardworking mechanical mzee has truly earned its permanent rest after decades of pulling together in the skies.
MAMA WA TAIFA...🇹🇿❤️
Yesterday evening , I once again had the PROFOUND pleasure of paying a COURTESY VISIT on H.E. DR. SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, at STATE HOUSE, DAR ES SALAAM 🇹🇿. As always, I was accorded a warm and GRACIOUS reception and later hosted to DINNER in a manner befitting the renowned Tanzanian spirit wa UNYENYEKEVU na UPENDO. Beyond the prestigious office she occupies, MAMA SAMIA has a remarkable combination of a TOUGH COMMAND which is blended with a MOTHER’S LOVE.
Each time I visit Tanzania, there is always some SPECTACULAR socio-economic transformation happening. From the shores of LAKE TANGANYIKA to the majestic slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, one does not need a rocket-scientist to see the REMARKABLE development in this Country. Roads are being MODERNIZED, railway systems ARE BEING EXPANDED as evidenced by the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) expansion, electricity access is reaching RURAL communities, while CLEAN water is now the STANDARD quality of life for ordinary citizens. It is often said that what a man can do, A WOMAN CAN DO BETTER, and Her Excellency continues to demonstrate precisely why that saying remains TRUE. This is a woman of DISTINCTION and EXCELLENCE, who leads from the front, sets exceptionally high standards and inspires CONFIDENCE within Tanzania and the African continent at large !!!
This particular visit came at a MOST EXCITING moment, as I finally move to fulfil a long-held vision of expanding investments within the Eastern African region, particularly within the TOURISM, HOSPITALITY and RENEWABLE ENERGY sectors. I took the opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to Her Excellency for the immense opportunities that exist within Tanzania and to share aspects of the INVESTMENTS which the Intratrek Holdings Group intends to now make. Among these, is the imminent development of a US$200 MILLION DOLLAR world-class hospitality investment in the SERENGETI and NGORONGORO , which will bring new levels of LUXURY TOURISM and global capital to TANZANIA and the East African Region. The possibilities are immense, and the future is VERY BRIGHT...just watch the space ⏳.
As I leave Dar es Salaam, I do so with a heart full of GRATITUDE and a renewed belief in the LIMITLESS possibilities that lie ahead for Tanzania. With the visionary leadership of MAMA SAMIA, Africa is poised for unprecedented INVESTMENT and economic transformation. Your leadership sets the stage for MEGA-INVESTMENTS by Africans, for Africans.
Asante sana Mama Rais. May God continue to grant you good HEALTH, abundant wisdom, strength and COURAGE as you continue to lead the people of Tanzania towards PROSPERITY and SUCCESS. 🙏🏾🇹🇿

JUST PASSING THROUGH: Breaching what was once considered the most heavily defended airspace on earth, a Ukrainian AN-196 ‘Lyutyy' strike drone sails undisturbed over downtown Moscow. And in broad daylight, too.
This will be minted for the whole of July. Will it improve his chances of being re-elected as the Governor of Siaya or is he looking at a a more national outlook?
Today, I stood with courageous Kenyans in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and across the nation to mark the historic Gen Z protests anniversary. I salute every patriot who took to the streets, and every citizen who honored this day from home.
The mask has completely fallen. It is now undeniably evident that the goons unleashed to harass peaceful citizens were state sponsored, operating under police escort. But intimidation cannot silence a nation.
Despite the state’s desperate resistance, we marched to Parliament and laid a wreath in honor of our fallen heroes who died during the June 2024 anti Finance Bill demonstrations.
They tried to bury our youth; they forgot they were seeds. The struggle for a just Kenya continues !

Today's Maandamano was a TOTAL waste of our NATIONAL IMAGINATION. No Oomph! No ENERGY. No PEOPLE as promised. And no GenZ. Lesson: you CANNOT repeat a political TRICK twice. June 2024 cannot be REPLAYED ever. It was a moment in time. And it was JUSTIFIED. You cannot REPLAY it.
Today as we marched to Parliament to lay flowers at the site where Kenyan Youth were shot dead, police violently dispersed us a few metres from the precincts of Parliament.
I pulled Rex Masai's mother, who was marching next to me into my vehicle as other mothers and victims found refuge in the few cars on site.
We drove away as police men pursued us.
We were guilty of one thing: peaceful demonstration and picketing as allowed by our Constitution in remembrance of these young heroes.
As a people, we shall not relent until we deliver justice and accountability for the victims.
