Some of u may not know this, but women are under no obligation to be friendly, accommodating, pretty, thin, silent or submissive so that weak, misogynistic men feel more comfortable.

We need to allow survivors to be angry and messy and imperfect. We need to allow survivors to heal at their own pace, in their own way, w/out concluding they’re unreliable because they don’t behave how we think they should. There is no right or wrong way for victims to behave.

Victims are depicted a certain way on screen causing cynical disbelief when actual victims “go off script” & behave differently. That unrealistic, critical judgment of a victims behavior and timeline makes it that much more difficult for future victims to speak out.
