Setting a precedent of correcting mistakes (even big ones) once the game has restarted would certainly cause more issues than it would solve further down the pyramid you go IMO.

Think the various VAR audio releases so far have shown they analyse the build up to goals quite well on the whole. But what if they miss something that then leads to a goal? …

It would only work if people are willing to accept a) their explanation (even if they disagree) and b) an apology if they’ve got it wrong.
