Proud to support this new phase of the @ThisGirlCanUK campaign: We Like the Way Your Move.
It's important that we keep breaking down barriers and highlight that there's no one way to be active - it's just about finding what's right for you!
New #ThisGirlCan ad alert 🚨
We're reframing what getting active looks like to women who feel they don't belong in the exercise world. How ever you like to move, we like it!
Start with just 10 minutes of movement and see how it makes you feel.

There is an incredible and powerful link between physical activity and mental wellbeing, and launched today, Find Your Active: Move For Your Mind is encouraging residents to rediscover just that.
Find your moment, #FindYourActive, and move for your mind.
1 in 6 adults & 1 in 6 young people in Essex live with poor mental health.
Launching Find Your Active: Move For Your Mind – a fresh reminder of the powerful connection between physical activity & mental wellbeing. @EssexPH

Everyone’s journey to being active is different, but for me, sport was the hook.
We’ve seen a shift to focus on physical activity & movement, but I want to reflect on the power of sport - the spark it creates, the drive it gives, the doors it opens.

In line with #InternationalOlympicDay2025, I had the pleasure of speaking with Essex born professional boxer and Paris 2024 Bronze Medallist, @LewisJRich about his time at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as well as the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship.
Today is #InternationalOlympicDay and in an exclusive interview, we caught up with Essex's very own Olympic Bronze Medalist and Professional Boxer - @LewisJRich.
He told us about his journey to the Olympics, his personal experience of the games in Paris and how he mentally prepares himself to perform at the highest level.

The school holidays provide the perfect opportunity to get out on some visits.
Today I attended a Holiday Activity and Food club, Crafty Katie in #Wickford. It was great to see an @EssexActivAte club in motion with happy children, exciting activities and importantly outdoor fun!
We're beginning a new chapter at @ActiveEssex & I'm reflecting on how realigning our team & new ways of working will help us measure impact better.
Together, we're working smarter not harder, to create the conditions for communities to thrive. Read more: https://t.co/Wib5Q8rpCk
10 years of #ThisGirlCan!
In my @Sport_England Board Member role I joined a cohort of attendees at the Parliamentary Reception as phase 6 of the campaign launches.
It is a fantastic campaign, and this next phase 'Belonging Starts with Inclusion' is really close to my heart.
It was a privilege to be asked to present at @whysportsmedia Conference today, around ‘Getting Active for a Healthier Britain’.
Alongside @ActiveEssex Chair @DrWilliamBird we discussed how physical activity can create the conditions for our places and communities to thrive.
Throughout #2024 @ActiveEssex dedicated time to start to embed #reflection, #collaboration, and #learning in a safe and trusting environment.
And the metaphor I feel we’re trying to achieve is that of a rock-climbing centre - see why here👇

Great to be attending the #SympoShare with @TAWSociety today.
With a whole host of partners attending it’s been a good morning sharing learning from free bike schemes, especially #EssexPedalPower, and to learn about other challenges & successes across active travel initiatives!
This #October@ActiveEssex are celebrating Equality, Diversity and Inclusion #EDI

At the @AE__Foundation conference it was clear to see sport has the power to unite.
Stories shared weren’t just theoretical examples of what sport ‘could’ do – they were real lived experiences that demonstrated sports ability to turn lives around.

If you’ve read my reflections before, or whether you’re new, I do tend to wrestle with the power of numbers, vs storytelling. This month I try to use both to articulate the impact of
@EssexActivAte in their Evaluation report.

System change is not just a complicated concept, it’s a reality in Essex.
In my Reflections this month I talk about how system change can create impact at scale & how the @AE__Foundation has managed to hardwire sport into the criminal justice system👇
