Looking forward to the opening session of Immersed in Change over the next two days hosted by Costa Rica to help advance towards the @UN Ocean Conference in 2025 in France.
@RBoumphrey_LRF@KP_LR Transforming shipping to a clean and thriving infrastructure sector is critical for society. Doing it safely is vital. It is inspiring to see the Lloyd’s Register Foundation and Katharine Palmer making this a priority.
@ChathamHouse@BerniceWLee@climatemorgan@Ed_Miliband@AmbNKarigithu Excellent session. Enjoyed a number of themes that came across fro Thomas Thune Andersen: There can be no net zero without nature/biodiversity. Companies should look to have “scope 4” eg leave the world better off than when you started.
Transition was highlighted

Congratulations to the delegates for agreeing the High Seas Treaty. A major milestone in multilateral cooperation on the High Seas and essential for protecting 30 percent of our oceans by 2030.
This is a great read to understand how seafarers need to be prepared for the future- and how developing skills sits at the heart of the energy transition. @martha_selwyn @LR_Foundation@TimSlingsby
With the designation of @SciDiplomacyUSA Assistant Secretary Medina as Special Envoy for Biodiversity and Water Resources, @StateDept is elevating the issues of global water security and threats to nature on the global stage. https://t.co/wqREyd5OVu
Today in Istanbul, I saw, with great emotion, the @WFP vessel Brave Commander, transporting much-needed food products from Ukraine to the Horn of Africa.
It’s an enormous contribution to making sure that children, women & men do not die of hunger.
Such a pleasure to meet Dr. @RBoumphrey_LRF, the new CEO of @LR_Foundation. We had productive discussions reflecting on the outcomes of the private sector convenings at the recently concluded @UN Ocean Conference and the partnership between our organizations. #UnitingBusiness

My message to graduates as they embark on their professional careers:
Don’t work for climate-wreckers.
Use your talents to drive us towards a renewable future.
We all have a responsibility not to squander our skills, but to use them in a responsible and constructive way.
When children go to school, they should only be concerned about learning. Children should not go to school fearing for their lives!
My heartfelt prayers are with the families, classmates and teachers who are mourning such a devastating loss in Uvalde, Texas.
I’m deeply saddened by the heinous mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas. It is particularly heart-wrenching that most of the victims are children.
My heart goes out to the families & loved ones of the victims and to the community of Uvalde.
