I got back into reading in a big way during covid to look after my mental health. Since the start of 2020, I’ve read 191 books (including rereads). It started off as cutesy young adult books when my mental health wasn’t great but since then I’ve been able to read more diversely!!
Other books I force people to read include: The Stranger by Albert Camus, Suddenly Last Summer by Tennessee Williams (technically a play but yanno), Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwam (until my ex borrowed my copy and never gave it back) and Dubliners by James Joyce
Looking at comments on local news articles and on twitter has been so crushing. Hundreds of people mocking the struggles of real people. So much for céad míle fáilte 🙄
Lmao I was finally in a mindset to use social media healthily but yesterday and today has brought out so much hatred in people. Love always to my trans friends and family and I will always stand with you ♥️🏳️⚧️
My secondary school drove me to a mental breakdown in sixth year and I was almost hospitalised because of the stress and anxiety it caused me but it’s all ok now because the teachers posted a video of themselves dancing for happiness week
I honestly peaked at 10 years old when my friend had to give her cat away because her newborn sister was allergic and I said (completely seriously) that her sister should be given away instead
I’m making a master document full of pdf versions of books as Gaeilge in a bid to improve my language skills! I’ll post the link below when it’s ready. Feel free to use it if you want to incorporate more Irish into your everyday life
