Set a Strong Activation Function for Your Mind
There’s a important concept in neural networks called the activation function. In plain English: the world is flooding you with far too much information. You need a clear threshold. Anything below it deserves zero attention — no energy, no exceptions.
Look at your social circle. Most people are drowning in shallow acquaintances and fake friends they barely know. Your activation function is the simple, measurable standard you set for yourself. If a relationship falls below it, cut it off. Stop leaking energy on noise.
As you gain real experience, your threshold naturally rises. That’s healthy. But here’s the brutal truth: most people’s activation function is set dangerously low. They get triggered by every little distraction and waste massive mental resources on worthless noise.
The real purpose of an activation function — in a neural network or in your own mind — is to understand reality with the least amount of resources possible while generating the highest return. Fail to install a strong one and your competitiveness will quietly erode. You’ll be slowly dragged down and buried by an endless stream of spam.
Protect your inputs. Raise your threshold. Or watch your mind get hijacked by noise.
