Today is a proud moment, as we open the @WHO Tokyo Office, which will house the UHC Knowledge Hub.

The Hub will help to analyze best practices and share knowledge on health financing with countries navigating their own paths toward universal health coverage.

In that sense, we are not just opening a building; we are building a bridge to a healthier, safer, fairer and more sustainable future!

I thank @MHLWitter Minister Ueno, Professor @TakemiKeizo, and the Japanese government for their hospitality, leadership and commitment to our shared vision: the highest attainable standard of health, not as a luxury for some, but a right for all.

Today, RCCDN, @trocaire partners, and @NyaruguruDistr join the world in celebrating #WorldEnvironmentDay 2026 under the theme #ClimateAction. Together, we are inspiring communities and young people to protect the environment, conserve biodiversity, and build a climate-resilient future.

In Nyabimata Sector, near @NyungwePark, students of GS Nyabimata are using their talents and creativity to raise awareness on environmental conservation through songs, debates, drama, dance, poetry, and illustrated storytelling. Young people are key actors in driving climate action and sustainable development.

Climate change is a global emergency that extends beyond national borders.

To address it, world leaders came together to adopt the #ParisAgreement, a legally binding international treaty requiring countries to reduce emissions and adapt to climate impacts.

RCCDN, in partnership with @trocaire and @UR_CAFF, is conducting a 4-day capacity strengthening training on #Agroecology in @MusanzeDistrict. The training aims to strengthen knowledge on agroecology for practical application and advocacy toward climate-resilient and sustainable agricultural systems in Rwanda.

As part of the ongoing #Agroecology capacity strengthening training participants will engage in field visits and practical learning sessions on compost making, water conservation, and sustainable farming practices. The aim is to strengthen knowledge and advocacy capacity for practical agroecology implementation and climate resilience in Rwanda.

Government institutions, civil society organizations, academia, and development partners are joining efforts in Musanze to strengthen agroecological knowledge. Together, we are advancing biodiversity conservation, food security, and climate adaptation in Rwanda.
