Another day of #stargate trending on here.
Let's keep the momentum. @AmazonMGMStudio you should really reconsider cancelling @martingero's Stargate series.
Give them at least one season! #savestargate
What I don’t get about @AmazonMGMStudio cancelling Stargate.
1: Old fans will watch and bring in new fans with their enthusiasm
2: New fans will catch up with old shows, which are… on Amazon
3: (optional) these new fans will want to buy the old stuff on physical.. from Amazon.
No matter what happens. Come what may. I am so F….n proud of this fandom and how you all have come together.
Stargate fans really are the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️

With no official cancellation announcement from Amazon MGM Studios, the Stargate series isn't dead yet. Here are 5 reasons for hope and 5 actions fans can take today:
Reasons to Believe the Decision Can Be Reversed
- The Showrunner is Still Under Contract: Martin Gero has an active agreement to develop TV with Amazon outside of Stargate, meaning he is still inside the company and available if they pivot.
- Money Has Already Been Spent: Because extensive work and financial resources have already been invested into the pre-production of this specific iteration, it is much easier for Amazon to restart it than to begin from scratch.
- Proven Track Record of Attracting Late-Stage Viewers: Fans note that people successfully hopped onto the franchise as late as SG1 Season 10, proving the series can naturally attract new fans while still honoring past continuity.
- The Franchise is Ripe for a Dual-Generation Cast: The established Stargate universe is uniquely positioned to seamlessly blend classic legacy characters with brand-new characters, creating a low-risk bridge for both old and new audiences.
- Unrealized Viewership Demand: Commentary reveals there is a large segment of the fanbase that didn’t even know a new series was in development, meaning Amazon has a massive, untapped audience ready to watch the moment marketing actually begins.
Actions Fans Can Take
- Sign the "Save the Gate" Petition: Fans can sign the specific petition launched with showrunner Martin Gero to help reach a goal of one million signatures.
- Email the Head of Global Television: Fans can bypass the executive who canceled it and direct their emails and letters straight to Peter Friedlander, the boss who originally greenlit the show.
- Leverage Household Influence: Parents who are Stargate fans can threaten to stop sharing their Amazon Prime passwords and accounts with their adult children, impacting Amazon's viewership data.
- Leave Public Feedback in the Video Comments: Fans are encouraged to share their honest, open answers and frustration in the comments section to build visible public consensus.
- Share Personal Multi-Generational Stories: Fans can share personal testimonies showing that entire families—spanning three generations—gather together to watch the show, proving its massive household appeal.
New Stargate Series Canceled... Amazon Wants "YOUNGER" Audience! What's Next?https://t.co/9Wmj4Qg9bW by the @PopcastGuys@BaronDestructo@MichaelShanks@GateWorld@dial_the_gate@disparutoo@Nerdrotics@TheCriticalDri2@bradtravelers@martingero@fandompulse@pulse_tachyon
How to save Stargate
1: Sign the petition! This is the largest one, I’ve seen some links for older ones. Make sure to use the current one!

Let’s save Stargate!
I’m absolutely honored to join the incredible cast of @finalfantasyvii & taking up the mantle of Sephiroth in this third installment. I know how important he is to so many, and I come at this with absolute respect & heart.
Excited for you all to experience Revelation! #FF7R
Well done, gentlemen! Every Stargate fan should give this video a watch. What happened to the new Stargate show, and what can we do to #SaveStargate?
@AmazonMGMStudio, Peter Friedlander, and Mike Hopkins: it's not too late to reverse this decision and embrace fandom again!
You know what's frustrating is seeing people who were never #Stargate fans/have never seen Stargate mocking actual fans for getting their hopes up, saying "You should have known better"... Excuse me but you don't know wtf you're talking about Jan.
Here are the facts:
1. The shows' original creators were determined to make a series that continued the SG legacy that could welcome in new fans while also keeping with the continuity of the Lore.
2. Amazon execs wanted woke slop like Rings of Power, and the original said NO.
3. Like spoiled children, the Amazon executives canceled a show that had already been APPROVED AND WAS IN PRODUCTION.
So to all the fake geek girls out there that are only chiming in because it's trending, mocking the fans for this. Take a minute & do a shred of research before chiming in on a situation you know nothing about.
This is 100% @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio fault & @JeffBezos should rectify it period.

The new Stargate series is dead. The reason Amazon cancelled it has me absolutely infuriated.
This show could have been massive, the timing could not have been better. The news is full of ancient alien conspiracies and actual advancements in space exploration. Nearly every sci-fi property is failing their target demographic. Star Trek sucks, Star Wars sucks. What an opportunity to create a great show; squandered.
Amazon's Stargate series was created by show veterans and designed to respect the established lore, and thus respect the dedicated fanbase.
The executives at Amazon thought they knew better. They read the script and did not believe the show would appeal to an audience outside of the established core viewerbase. They told them to abandon the world that had been built up over 17 seasons to appeal to a mythical 'modern audience'. The showrunners refused, held their ground, said 'I die free', and thus the show was cancelled. Massive respect to them.
As a LONG time Stargate fan who has watched through SG1 at least half a dozen times: I would rather have NOTHING than a betrayal. I would rather we never get another Stargate property again than see them do to my favorite show what they've done to The Lord of the Rings with 'The Rings of Power'.
Impudence!
This is an actual quote from SG1: "Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment."
"From essential security tools to restricted circumvention software: The EU signals that VPNs are the next target following the release of its age verification app"

Since Amazon MGM Studios won't even read an email from a dedicated Stargate fan ('unsolicited submission materials'), which must be bad for business, here's the full content of the email (subject is the axing of Stargate):
Dear Amazon Studios Leadership,
I am writing as a longtime Stargate fan to express my deep disappointment at the cancellation of Martin Gero’s new Stargate series and to ask that you reconsider.
Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe ran for seventeen seasons and built one of the most loyal fanbases in science fiction television. I have been part of that audience for years. I buy Prime Video subscriptions. I watch Amazon originals. I am exactly the viewer you are trying to reach.
The reported reason for the cancellation — that the show was too focused on existing fans — misunderstands how franchise revivals work. You do not build a new audience by abandoning the existing one. You build it by honoring the existing audience first and using their enthusiasm to bring new viewers in alongside them. That is precisely what Martin Gero, Brad Wright, and Joe Mallozzi were doing.
Please restore the Gero Stargate project, or at minimum commit to a revival that respects the franchise’s seventeen seasons of canon and brings back the creative team that built it.
The gate is ready to open again. Please let it.
Thank you for your time. @AmazonMGMStudio@BaronDestructo@MichaelShanks@GateWorld@dial_the_gate@fandompulse@disparutoo
Roland's Letter perfectly explains why Amazon needs to move forward with Martin Gero's STARGATE Series. You can't abandon a fan base to chase a new one. Gero has promised time and time again to bring in new fans while honoring what came before. AMAZON, LET HIM COOK! @AmazonMGMStudio please share this with PETER FRIEDLANDER. Do Stargate right. You really can have it both ways. TRUST THE PROCESS! Bring Martin Back.
@JennyStiven If you want to write to Amazon MGM Studios directly (ATTN: Peter Friedlander), please be respectful and specific. Give them every reason to think the decision was strategically wrong - not that Stargate fans are toxic and shouldn't be listened to.
