Congratulations Si!
A well deserved recipient. 44 years in and still keen as mustard! He's been a great colleague, mentor and friend along the way in my fire service career.
Many congratulations to our very own Watch Manager Simon Griffiths on receiving his #BEM from her majesty.
An award throughly deserved for all of his commitment, dedication and hard work he's provided in his 44 years of service to Whitchurch and @shropsfire

On our weekly drill night some of the crew who attended were awarded with their Platinum Jubilee Medal π
These medals have been awarded by Queen Elizabeth II to every serving frontline member of the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Prison Officers.
Once the scene was safe we made sure the coach was safe for the crews to work in. All internal services were isolated in the building. The injured casualty was transported by ambulance. At the incident we were assisted by @FireHodnet@SFRS_Wellington@OFFICIALWMAS@WMerciaPolice
Yesterday we were π by @SFRS_Control to an RTC coach into building at Coton, Whitchurch.
On our arrival the driver was still in the coach and required us to carry out casualty care. With the risk of the building collapsing crews tried to make the scene safe.
Yesterday we were π by @SFRS_Control to assist @NW_Fire_Control@CheshireFire@CreweFireStn to RTC person's trapped at Bickley Moss. We were first in attendance and discovered no one was trapped. We administered casualty care to the drivers, made the scene and cars safe. #oncall
Not my video, but passed to me by a former @LondonFire colleague. A house fire in East London a couple of weeks ago caused by an e-scooter lithium battery. The burning batteries 'flaring' causes overpressure which looks like mini-backdraughts!!!
At 01.33hrs 09.02.22 4 crews from @SFRS_Baschurch@SFRS_Oswestry & @SFRS_Shrews were called to an Industrial Unit Nr Newbridge Oswestry. Fire Investigation called out
Another two weeks spent at @FSCmoreton. This time on my BAi course. Great course and tuition by very knowledgeable instructors. Looking forward to utilising my newly acquired skills @shropsfire@FrsShrop
Last night we attended @FrsShrop for a CFBT session. This was a great session for the crew which gave us great exposure on fire development and conditions in the compartment. Thank you to the training department for their insight, knowledge and time.
