@jjzomerset. A few have commented that the parakeets haven’t been seen or heard in Holders woods for a while. Just wondered if they’re quiet when not mating, or if they’ve gone elsewhere. Do you know?

⁦@BirminghamParks⁩ Monday this field & slope had loads of daisies & dandelions, early pollinators. Now all cut. Not a #NoMowMay policy in Brum? Why not? These aren’t sports pitches. BTW crocuses we planted last autumn were also cut when still flowering few weeks ago.

@robkewley77 @BCC_Help TBF apart from after 3 large gatherings there wasn’t much litter on our fields last year, cricket teams always clear up and many picnickers incl, some largish (12/15) groups of young people took all litter away, Yesterday pm saw picnic of 8/10 and they left the area spotless.

⁦@WMCycleHire⁩ here’s the pic of the bike, with number & some litter in the background (was plenty more). BTW Birmingham Parks Byelaws prohibit riding any bike in parks except on designated cycle paths, and the field certainly is not that. What penalty can be issued?

These pellets were on a tree stump in Holders Woods this morning, internet search they look similar both to rat poison and bird food, don’t know which they are, but my dog found them first. Anyway at vets now, as it’s within 3 hrs she’s being made to vomit. Watch out for them.

Horses on Holders at the weekend left some deep hoof prints, bit of a trip hazard, so we’re going to try filling them in on Saturday morning at 10.00 on the cricket pitch (or maybe by containers in the car park collecting soil). Do join us if you can, the more the merrier!
