F1 have essentially no flywheel so stop spinning very quickly if lifting off. A stopped engine can lock the rear axle - it also happens with motorcycles, even road ones.

@deaconbluemusic I first saw @deaconbluemusic in concert at the Fellow Hoodlums tour, in Leicester, December 1991. My favourite song: Cover From The Sky; it was released the day I saw DB - I bought a copy and took it with me and got the cover signed by most of the band.
