@SVcrazycatlady@rdd147 I asked it why it hallucinated once and it said “I’m a fancy predictive text program with a prime directive of giving satisfying not necessarily truthful answers” essentially
@SVcrazycatlady@rdd147 language pattern tool and any logic is only emergent from what’s intrinsic in the training pool. It’s surprisingly good at philosophy and I know it’s frowned upon but I’ve found it helpful in psychology too which is surreal to say.
@SVcrazycatlady@rdd147 I’ve seen it hallucinate (historical details) and get basic logic wrong (front/back) but not yet in medical contexts maybe because the language (hemochromatosis-> arthritis eg) doesn’t appear in the training sets elsewhere? But caution/verification indeed. It’s a
@SVcrazycatlady@rdd147 It’s been helpful for me. Had a complex case (hemochromatosis, anti-fungal side effects, GI infection/abx, ascites, hernia surgery, pseudo gout) and it connected the dots in a way I could not.
@ygzgzot@SwampCommunist I like this discussion because I want to tease out who’s essentializing what and who’s reifying what. Also when do we need to appeal to a psychology/trauma that’s not moved by this logic of relation and process over binary oppositions. Do we essentialize when expedient?
@Liberation_Blk Maybe I’m mixing frames but in the development of class consciousness another dimension of this is there are parts of the psyche which are not moved by logic or they are moved by an old logic of safety over “truth.” Also some essentialism may be expedient at times?
@Liberation_Blk They’re reifying relational processes but is it essentialism or just reification? Petty bourg is not an essence but also people who are “professors” have varied relations to capital. Higher ed plays both a distinct role in reproduction but is also the site of class contention.
@Rocko64_ it’s inextricable from the material history of class in global capitalism and when you say it hasn’t been built you’re ignoring anti-colonial structures in the flesh.
@Rocko64_ Sorry you’re arguing with something else. I’m saying your dismissal of decolonialism is a reflection of your disposition in the living fabric of imperialism and wrong b/c…
@RodericDay@NiaFrome What’s your impression of deliberate vs unconscious upholding of imperialist social relations by online American communists who drop subtle axiomatic chauvinisms within info drops (“private/personal prop is meaningless; poor people are brain-injured; decolonialism is inferior”)?
@Rocko64_ I’m sure others are aware but I’m finally noticing that many online gringo communists are just imperialists. “Decolonialism is inferior.” “Poor people’s brains are deficient.” “The distinction between private and personal property is meaningless.” Conscious/unconscious I imagine.
@Rocko64_ Sounds reasonable at first glance but in fact you’re not annihilating anything. Imperialism being the primary contradiction includes both the finance/military monopoly abuses and the shallow intellectual superiorizing you’re engaging in.
@AzadehMoaveni Never mind you’re from Palo Alto, you inherited the chauvinism and it upholds your social relations to imperialism but “hamal” may not be a slur you learned to use.
@AzadehMoaveni “Leftist lumpen types” lemme guess you use the word “hamal” pejoratively. You are the gusanos being correctly unmasked as comprador oppressors and western chauvinists. Your days of masquerading as moral superiors is over. I suggest you cry some more about it.
