Eritrea 🇪🇷 has been warning the world: Abiy Ahmed 🇪🇹 and his generals (many of them former POWs of Eritrea) are recklessly provoking a dangerous conflict against Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

🟥 1. False Claim on Assab Port ⚓ – They shout about “historic rights” to Assab, yet have never filed a single case in international courts — because they know they have ZERO evidence.

🟩 2. Empty Talk of Diplomacy 🤝 – They claim “peaceful methods,” yet have not made one formal request to the Eritrean government.

🟦 3. Illusion of Military Strength 💥 – Abiy’s generals brag of power, yet lose every battle against popular resistance in Amhara, Oromia, and Tigray.

False Crowns & Empty Stomachs: The Myth of Ethiopian Self-Reliance Under Abiy Ahmed

In the heart of Addis Ababa, Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli walks with polished shoes and a polished smile. The streets are lined with glass buildings and flags of foreign donors. Cameras follow. The headlines echo: “Ethiopia rising.” But behind the polished image is a truth so raw that even the government’s spin cannot bury it — #Ethiopa is not self-reliant. It is self-deceiving.

A Nation in Hunger

In April 2025, the #UnitedNations released a grim update:
650,000 women and children in Ethiopia will lose food aid support this month.
3.6 million people are at immediate risk of severe hunger, especially in the Oromia, Amhara, and Tigray regions.

This isn’t a one-time crisis. It’s a reflection of years of failed priorities.

While Abiy Ahmed’s administration praises “development,” the countryside starves. While Addis hosts investment conferences, children in rural towns eat once every two days — if at all.

Ethiopia receives over $3 billion annually in foreign aid, from the United States, EU, World Bank, IMF, and China. Yet the regime speaks the language of self-reliance, as if press releases could grow wheat.

What Is Self-Reliance, Really?

Self-reliance is not about refusing aid for pride. It’s about building a nation with its own hands. It’s about food security, energy independence, clean water, and national sovereignty.

Real self-reliance means:
•Building schools before building hotels.
•Feeding your people before building conference halls.
•Creating a health system that works for farmers, not just diplomats.
•Resisting not just military invasions, but economic colonization.

In this regard, #Eritrea — not Ethiopia — stands as a true model of African self-reliance.
No loans from IMF. No World Bank programs. Survived 20 years of sanctions. Developed its own agriculture systems. Paid its own price — but never sold its flag for food.

Abiy Ahmed’s government, by contrast, takes aid, loans, and weapons from East and West, while preaching self-reliance in the same breath. This is not independence. It is illusion.

The Tribal Reality

One of Ethiopia’s greatest wounds is tribalism. Under Abiy’s rule, ethnic politics have exploded. Armed conflict between #Amhara militias and the federal government. #oromo protests and massacres. #Tigray war’s long shadow still bleeding. All while Addis pretends unity on the global stage.

The regime claims to be building a united Ethiopia. But in the same breath, it encourages ethnic federalism — a system that divides rather than builds. Self-reliance without national unity is fiction. You cannot have a strong house if each room is at war with the other.

Images Speak Louder Than Lies

We see the pictures now. Abiy walking proudly through Addis while tribal elders, grandmothers, and broken youth beg beside him. He smiles for the camera. But the people’s eyes do not lie. They look up — not for inspiration, but for bread.

This is not self-reliance.
This is self-display.
A parade of suits walking over bones.

Conclusion: Speak Truth or Be Silent

Ethiopian elites — especially those abroad — love to speak of “African strength,” “Black dignity,” and “ancient civilization.” But what use are these words if your government cannot feed its own children? What pride is there in grand speeches while your mothers line up for wheat?

Before preaching to others — especially neighbors like Eritrea — fix your own house. Clean your own door. Feed your own village. Heal your own wounds.

Self-reliance is not a performance. It is a daily battle.

And for now, Ethiopia under Abiy is losing that battle — not in silence, but behind a wall of slogans.
