I started working with educational YouTube channels while still in high school.
No audience. No experience. No idea what I was doing.
3 years later I've built a $200,000+ educational YouTube business.
Here's how I did it and what I learned along the way🧵
just watched this video from Fern and I understand it sucks to see people break into a niche you used to dominate with almost zero budget.
and I agree to a certain point, straight out copying visuals to the dot is wrong.
at the same time all the "traditional" animation channels act like they own this animation style and no one is allowed to copy them if they're using ai.
i love Fern and think they produce some of best content on YouTube, but isn't this how all industries develop over time?
someone find a way to do what you do faster, easier and cheaper.
It's like like Blockbuster hating on Netflix.
@eduonelait I get the point about copying thumbnails etc, but let's not act like they're alone about having their thumbnails copied. It's the name of the game, everyone is copying each other.
Probably Alix. The possibilities for her to build brands that can last for years to come is so much bigger.
100% shelby atm though, but she does not have the same opportunity to do a $1B+ in a couple of years.
Influencer make up brands seems to have become a bit saturated but I could see Alix become a co owner in something similar that's being sold for 9-10 figures down the line
The victim card they’ve been playing for the past few months start getting ridiculous. Acting like they care so enormously about a competitor getting a historical number wrong when in reality it’s all about crushing their competition.
I do believe a lot of people outside of the content creation space are going to buy their victim strategy without hesitation.
They’re doing some great stuff on their channel but I lost a lot of respect after that video.
Honestly I think they sounded a bit like cry babies in the video and used the misinformation as a reason to criticize those channels.
I don’t believe they give a damn about those channels uploading misinformation, but they do care about new channels out competing them with 1/100 of their budget
@TTrimoreau Product 100% and then build an organic audience around the product. Create content in a natural way that’s framed to funnel into the product
@FeyiLux Depend on how many views the video is at. A 100k+ views video can comfortably sit at 5% ctr but it usually have 8%+ within the first 10k impressions and then drop down as views come in
I'll die on this hill...
There is absolutely no reason you should touch paid ads until you're doing $5 to $10 million in revenue.
Learn how to create demand organically through content, partnerships, and outreach first. That's enough to take you to that 5-10M mark. Then once that engine is running, layer ads on top.
If you do it the other way around you risk getting eaten up by rising ad costs before your margins can absorb it.
