In it's first 10 years of service, the F-15 (closest pervious-gen comparison, I think) crashed 45 times, with 15 deaths.
The F-35, in its first 10 years, crashed 13 times - with just 1 death, that was deemed due to pilot error.

In early 2025 (with >1 million hours flown, and 1300 aircraft in service), the F-35's Class A mishap rate (ie: causing death/permanent disability, destruction of an aircraft, or >$2,5 million in damages) was 1.5 per 100,000 flight hrs.
