I was going to make a short post on LinkedIn, but it became too long, so I had to convert it to an article. I could (probably should have) posted it on my own site, but whatever - https://t.co/Bib6zk9BE6

@AlexStandiford They are hoping that their marketplace effect (bringing in customers) is enough to keep people locked in. And isn't this a Shutterstock move if I've ever seen one? lol
WP Beacon tracks every plugin on wordpress dot org — its authors, committers, and releases — to flag ownership transfers, dormant-then-activated takeovers, and release patterns that match known attacks. https://t.co/diCj0s9jIh by @austinginder
@photomatt That could be really interesting. Is it something you could execute through your connections so you can minimize your direct time investment and still see it through to a meaningful outcome? How many projects/companies do you have and manage already?
Competing on lowest price for hosting is a poor business model. Users want a great experience and service that reduces their concerns, not more management. #WebHosting#BusinessStrategy
@austinginder The issue will always be that it'll be hard to be okay with Opus 4.6 level AI when something more than 30% better is out. And I'm hoping that AI efficiency will improve during the next year because hardware costs aren't going to come down enough to make your question viable.
Some customers can't use AI due to regulations or security. That's why offering a choice of AI models (like Claude or ChatGPT) is key. It's not one-size-fits-all; it's about empowering users with options. #AI#Tech#WebHosting
Connecting your control panel to AI requires careful permission management. Customers can and should create limitations to prevent accidental deletions, like your website from Pressable. Human support is there to help restore if mistakes happen. #AI#WebHosting
Imagine querying your AI about client sites, asking for PHP version reports or diagnosing website slowdowns. The future is AI agents taking actions on your behalf, lowering barriers and speeding up tasks for agencies managing multiple sites. #AI#Tech#AgencyLife
@gridpane@ritakozlov Not dumb, I was curious if they had an interface for using WordPress plugins and themes while keeping them sandboxed. It can import content though.
