@HRHospital @Elise_ekd But what about a 17 year old with a documented high risk medical condition who hasn't been able to get vaccinated anywhere yet? This would finally give her mother some peace of mind after a very stressful year.
@Elise_ekd They have indicated that they will likely be officially expanding eligibility this week based on vaccine availability. But if you have documents for your daughter's medical condition and she's 17, I think it would be worth going - tomorrow morning at this point. Or keep watching.
@HRHospital This is so incredibly awesome!!! What about you @Sunnybrook@NYGH_News — will you be following with vaccinating 16 & 17 year olds living or working in hotspots???
@nicolalyle@puulima @Billius27 Talking about a 17 year old (2004). All clinics advised he would be turned away and that they are only vaccinating 18+ regardless of vaccine. I would appreciate any tips as my son has a cannot work from home PT job.
@HRHospital If you have Pfizer why can’t you vaccinate 16 & 17 year olds in hotspots or working frontline essential jobs? Their 18+ peers and coworkers have already had the privilege to be vaccinated and this creates an unfair working environment.
@SharkawyMD@JohnTory@TOPublicHealth Yes!! And let’s include those 16 & 17 year olds in hotspots and/or frontline essential jobs whose 18+ peers and coworkers have already had the privilege to be vaccinated. Why are we waiting for June to lump them in with the general 12-17 population? Pfizer has always been 16+.
What are we doing about this? When Pfizer is being offered there is no good reason to turn away essential workers in the same workplace simply based on age. 16 & 17 should be included now.
@TOPublicHealth@epdevilla@BogochIsaac@NYGH_News
@NYGH_News@VaxHuntersCan Then your poster should say that, or the system should block registrations for those <18. It is so frustrating that youth working the same job, 2003’s have been included but not 2004’s. Sometimes the age difference is only a month or two. This creates unfair working environment.

@Dogruer71@NYGH_News@VaxHuntersCan They have cancelled appointments in the past or turned people away younger than 18 (2003). I would like to know in advance.
@HRHospital Pfizer has been approved for 16+ from the star. Why aren’t you opening to 16 & 17 year olds in hotspots or working essential jobs or in healthcare settings? Why is are these youth simply getting lumped in with all kids 12+ ??? London, Halton, Durham PHUs are including them.
@drmwarner Let’s also include 16 & 17 year olds in hotspots and/or essential jobs. Pfizer has been approved for 16+ from the start. Why is only Halton taking advantage of this?
@ElitaSaulle @Billius27 @BogochIsaac Halton is already vaccinating 16+ essential workers, and beginning next week all residents 16+. And yet in Toronto hotspots ...
