I work for HMRC, over 85% of those new vape shops and new barbers that are opening up on every high street in the country are money laundering operations. We know this but we don't have the resource to stop it.

@GWRHelp just have to say how fab the team are on the 1715 EXD to PAD are. Yes we’ve had delays, but the onboard updates have been clear, sincere & honest, & the trolley team have been excellent. Please pass on my thanks. Great to experience good service when things go wrong.

David Latham talking to the total nub of the issue - have we lost sight of the purpose of pensions?! What is the purpose of a pension, and what is it to the person who is saving? #PMIMasterTrust23
#PMIMasterTrust23 - latest in the panel session, something I really agree with … pensions used to be an income when you retire value, we are now totally the other way when we are talking about a pot of money” - people have no context on what that number means.
Listening to interesting takes on private markets and illiquid assets in DC schemes. Some challenges to make it work, but some good solutions.

Ruffer talking about retirement and what recent economic changes have meant about retirees having to change their income-taking thinking. (Do retirees think about this? I don’t think so!). Interesting slide about “retirement ruin”. #PMIMasterTrust23
Some interesting and complex points made by @Links_Pensions about bulk transferring members to master trusts. Something I’ve considered a few times over the past few years, but it’s good to get this professional and experienced view. #PMIMasterTrust23
#PMIMasterTrust23 - really interesting session from @Tesco‘s Emma Botton as to how they work with their customers to serve them better through products, communications and understanding their needs. #gemba is really important (https://t.co/CJ4AptctNY)
Journalists have a part to play in preventing poor decision making and Mr Inglis has made some poor decisions about his pension situation. This has led in part to his losing his health and retiring at 55. https://t.co/HXnxtW1Y5t
@henryhtapper Well said. I totally agree with this blog Henry. I read the story yesterday and was shocked at the lack of balance and no investigation of the facts. I suspect the journo didn’t clock that it’s a DB scheme he’s talking about.
