The new series at Fire In A Bottle has begun!!
This is my attempt at tying together the threads. PUFA, oxygen, the Cambrian explosion, antioxidants. Copepods. Starting in my back yard.

This is an interesting question.
1) NEVER lump n3 together. Linolenic acid (flax) is NOT handled in the body like EPA/DHA from fish oil
2) MANY experiments in mice/rats show that EPA/DHA reduces expression of lipogenic enzymes dramatically
Every time I actually try fish for more than a couple of days, I slide closer to the Peat interpretation: all PUFA is bad, even omega-3.
Just quit the salmon experiment after only 14 days.
- Way worse weight loss than beef
- Sunburn
- General sense of food not being satisfying
- Increased appetite for heavy cream
- Didn't feel quite 100% much of the time ("malaise?")
Maybe it's a dose-makes-the-poison thing and the correct dose is "no more than 1-2 fish meals a week?"
This is madness. We spread myths that body type is about calories-in-calories-out. Then someone has a kind of gaunt look therefore they must be doing something like anorexia.
I have friends with this same look and I can assure you they eat very well! https://t.co/pVugdjsuz3
@exfatloss@LoschbourStev No!!! If you look close you can see that those are buildings and Silos. AKA bankruptcy tubes. It’s where farmers would keep their silage. They’re like giant sauerkraut fermenters, except with grass or cornstalks rather that whatever.
