Had a great time sharing my work at #AAG2023. So much great feedback from the audience in the last session of the last day! Thanks for the photos @DrAndyHong and thanks to all the folks behind the scenes at @theAAG - tech crews ftw!
Veteran @theAAG'ers - what's your best advice for first time attendees to #AAG2023? I've been asked but I've only been a few times myself...I think this is better answered via crowdsourcing!
Be sure to test your smoke alarms tonight folks! Iโve pulled down melted smoke alarms that were still sounding in many firesโฆitโs worth making sure your home is safe.
Presented recently at GradSlam, a UC-wide 3-minute talk event for non-expert audience. Shared how satellites can aid in flood response efforts.
Learnings from preparation workshops, peers and engagement with attendees were invaluable.
@envirogeography As an undergrad I found the concept of purchasing power parity really helpful in understanding development, migration, economics, etc. through the lens of geography.
It's always fascinating to see the breadth of geographic work being done here at @UCSBgeog - congrats to Dr.@kathy_baylis on her appointment as Director of the People & Poverty program at @emLabUCSB!

In the midst of finals week, and, an exceptionally difficult quarter of grad school, I'm pretty excited to have completed the requirements to re-certify my EMT license. Celebrating those little wins!

It's been a while, so here's my 4 step process for composing an email: (1) add any attachments; (2) write the email; (3) add subject line; (4) add recipient e-mail address(es). This ensures you remember the attachment, have a relevant subject and don't send before you're ready!
Someone much wiser than me once said "capitalize your strengths and shore up your weaknesses." Just a little something to think about as you plan your week or think about your summer plans.
Shout out to all the awesome dispatchers out there! Itโs an incredibly hard job that can make or break our initial response. Plus a great dispatcher showcases the excellence of a department.
