“Inclusivity in the context of teaching & learning does not simply mean that ‘you are allowed to be present here.’” To be included means ‘we have changed ourselves & our practices to make ‘here’ a place where you can thrive.’”

I’m a HUGE advocate for choice and voice.
People want to feel seen and heard.
With that said, this podcast episode is FANTASTIC for ideas/research on this topic.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good podcast to listen to. 😎
3D printed “Flower fidget bookmark”. Easy and fun 3D modeling project for beginners. I designed it in @tinkercad and 3D printed it using A1 mini combo by @BambulabGlobal . In this project I used pink and green PETG filament. #STEM#stemeducation#3Dprinting
A3: The best #STEM ideas I’ve seen are reusing recyclables to help kids become problem solvers:

You spend hours marking and commenting on student work, and then they don't even read your feedback. The solution is all in how you time it.

When I got sick of being required to change the learning target and success criteria every day (because how does that make sense for kids in being able to see purpose and growth?), I started making posters of my learning progressions and putting them on my wall instead.
Effective classroom management is..”about building relationships with students and teaching social skills along with academic skills.” - Better than Carrots or Sticks

Who needs a Goodbye Parade when the @DunnDolphins parents & my students bring it!!
So grateful for all the memories that I have made while being a teacher at @JCPSKY. Now the next chapter begins! Much love always! ❤️🐾✌🏼
If students aren’t getting enough physical activity, unstructured play, & recess, don’t blame them when they get restless, fidgety, & can’t focus in class. Children need to move! Physical activity and play, enhances focus, self regulation of emotions, & academic performance.
I interviewed a teacher who resigned last year.
I asked…
Why did you resign?
“I have a Master’s degree.
I work really hard.
I love teaching kids and am great at my job.
I do it all for a disgracefully low salary.
All of that and I’ve never felt so disrespected by so many.”
