Don't follow soccer at all, but watch the big tourneys. Won't be fully invested until the playdowns, but Canada getting a draw was cool, and Scotland winning was great, but 1-0 vs. Haiti was not impressive.
Finns, sadly--can only sauna, drink and play hockey--not represented!🤣
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney continued his efforts to pivot away from the U.S. and align with Europe, meeting with the leader of Ireland on Saturday ahead of the upcoming G7 summit and saying middle-power countries shouldn't compete for favor with America. https://t.co/O4UvEfz14b
@PontistGirl Side note that just occured to me... Sanford Fleming, Scottish/Canadian Engineer...Came up with Universal Time & time zones. I'm a Scot on my Mom's side, and her maiden name was Fleming. No relation I'm aware of...
@PontistGirl Obviously, I know you're making a joke, but I seriously am obsessed with chronology--and not just from the navigational standpoint. John Harrison changed the fucking world. As an engineer, you're scientific minded. Order this one. (and hope it arrives promptly.🤣)
@PontistGirl Ugh... looks amazing but starting a new workout routine and that won't be on the menu. I'll expect more workout photos from you after consuming that! 🤣
Respect.
I lost acquaintances in Afghanistan and some really close friends in other "incidents."
It's nothing to do with me, but there are genuine heroes out there that deserve respect.
And I am, in fact, fighting back tears as I type this.

Self medicating a migraine with booze is both fun, and functional.
I probably should've been a physician--pretty sure I would have been awesome.
"Drink a quart of gin and call me in the morning."
Full disclosure...I eat almost no processed foods, but Black Diamond Cheddar Slices are one of my few guilty pleasures...They really are fucking fantastic as cheese slices go...
@PontistGirl No. Just plain no.
It's a very common misconception though, amongst people of somewhat middling intellect--so don't feel too bad, you're not alone.😉🤣
