#Cuba José Ramón Solano Randiche, a Cuban political prisoner unjustly serving 13 years for sedition, a charge routinely used by Cuba’s dictatorship to criminalize dissent and condemned by human rights organizations for violating freedom of expression and other fundamental rights, is on hunger strike.

Since July 14, he has refused food at Holguín Provincial Prison after authorities arbitrarily revoked the family leave that would have allowed him to celebrate his two-year-old son’s birthday.

For 67 years, physical and psychological torture has been a state policy against Cuba’s political prisoners, from the historic Political Prison (Presidio Político) to the present.

Mexico City and all federal authorities must uphold the right to protest for all groups and families demonstrating during the World Cup.

Groups have been campaigning for the search and identification of their disappeared loved ones for years - work that is a legitimate form of human rights defense. This must be recognized, respected and protected. Guaranteeing the right to protest is an obligation of the Mexican State.

Ukraine: further allegations of mistreatment of journalists by invading Russian forces

Ukrainian journalist Anastasiia Hlukhovska was reportedly threatened with rape and had her head shaved upon arrival at a detention facility in Kizel, according to an investigation by https://t.co/PXmY67FhbU journalists.

A recently released Ukrainian POW recounted that guards threatened female detainees with sexual violence, calling them "Ukrainian bitches" and subjecting them to constant humiliation and psychological abuse.

russia's treatment of Ukrainian POWs and civilian hostages is a system built on cruelty, degradation, and the deliberate destruction of human dignity.
